I've stored plates for a year, sometimes they get a bit funky and smell musty though. I wouldn't store for that long though. Use slants.

Yeah I’ll get on board with the slants eventually but I got a mini fridge with no freezer I’ve been meaning to get going. What’s the best temp?

found clear penicillium in a numbe of my jars. can it be pretty much considered that all the jars are trash? I have some jars that are 75% colonized with a small dime size blue mold, are these absolutely done or can the mycellium fight this off? ty for your input.. this sucks..

Around 4°C is where I keep mine. Standard fridge temp.

I keep plated cultures in a mini-wine fridge that gets down to 42f. Just wrapped in foil. Haven’t checked on them in a while though 🤷🏻♂️

My goal is to create my own unique cross strain and for it to be known far and wide just like pasty has his rustywhite strain. It might be a strech to say this now but im sure ill get there..
Thanks for the enlightening input. From what ive been researching it seems pretty doable. Even if it was an untested isolate if you keep trying your gonna end up with something pretty cool thats your own. It'd be worth it to me.

Yeah I’m looking for some led string lights to wrap around my shelf.
If anyone has any recommendations I’m all ears.

Posted this in the wrong thread, I'll repost here...
So I've always thrown out grain jars that have obvious beads of metabolites on colonized grains. Is this too drastic of a step? Are metabolites always an indication of bacterial infection or can it also be a natural function of healthy mycelium digesting substrate?

I was just talking about this in PMs just now but these fruits were a cross I made. GATZ. It was GT, AA+, Tuluum or Mexican tuluum, and Z strain. The result of those crosses was then crosses with PE to make GATZ+ the results were pretty interesting.

Those pics are pretty old at least a couple years. As far as I know the genetics don't really exist anymore. Boogie was the last person around that I knew of that still had these genetics and I haven't seen him around hope he's doing all right. I still have a swab put up somewhere I'll try to germinate it one day bit I have trouble with old ass swabs sometimes.

Phenomenal. The GATZ variety already had above average potency for cubes compared to what I was used to but once crossed with PE it was mind blowing.

Look on amazon for similar items and you can find other brands and deals that are exact same item. They are so amazing. I'm 110% glad I made that buy. I'll take pics tomorrow to show how mine look
