I’ve got a plate I that was in cold storage for a few weeks. Ever since it got pulled out it’s got a hard halo around the outer edge.
Just wondering if that is normal or did it catch a contam in my dirty ass fridge?
usually temp changes can create those rings IME ; you should do 1 transfer to ensure that is clean and strong still ; then proceed
good luck !

Sounds legit. Backn in like 2012 I had a journal I kept notes in and I used to print the biggest cap from the first flush of each variety I grew in that notebook. I remember trying a bunch of shit to "preserve" the prints. Not for use but just to keep them on the page and keep the spores from spreading everywhere. So I could view the prints. I tried covering them in glue and letting them dry. Covering them in clear tape. Spraying hairspray over them. I dont remeber what ended up working best. You reminded me of that for some reason lol. If I can find the journal I'll post pics. Ive moved like 5 times since then though so no guarantee that its even still around.
Hairspray is a poor fixative. I used to use it like 20 years ago for stabilizing thin paper stock to do decoupage with until I tried a water-based clear-coat one day and was like fuck that. They sell fixative at art shops and even Walmart/Fred Myers in the crafts section (optimal- works like a gem for all like purposes). Krylon makes a good one I think would work good for prints as was described in the quote. Been thinking abbout this m'self as I scan the horizon for potential art projects involving prints...

Right on thanks for the advice. It was clean going in but now I’m not so sure..

I’ll take a transfer and see how it looks.

Well I’m officially out of cult stuff to do, and should prob get a couple more shoeboxes.
I think I’ve got 23 going plus a couple 2-3rd flush subs in the hc, the underbeds and my assorted sketchy spawn in whatever’s around grows.

Next up is my first attempt to pasteurize manure for pans.
Should be an interesting virus shut down.

very interesting and full of work virus vacation indeed
i used to pasteurize hpoo for cubes , i do not recommend pillow tek cause of the water content , better to prep sub before , put into a muda bottle with lid kinda recipient , submerge in water right below the lid level , and weight down cause they'll float , then cook with a thermometer stuck in the middle of one of the recipients , good luck !

Lol thanks the mug was an Xmas present but then it said not to drink from it? So now it’s a melmak holder.
For pasteurization I’m thinking either load up jars or oven bags with field cap manure.
Ok so has anybody ever had an ms grow not fruit?? This is pesa from an lc I made for lagm, I just spawned another jar from the same lc and a third from an ms plate earlier today.
This is day 19, I thought I might’ve been seeing knots underneath the myc but usually I can see them on the sides of the tub too and nothing there.

Michael's or Hobby Lobby sell a workable Fixative. It is basically aerosol varnish. But yeah.

Basically the same thing my art teacher told me in highschool she said that hairspray would work in a pinch but the real stuff is so much better that's what gave me the idea to begin with. I didn't even know it was called a fixative just kinda had a flashback to highschool. Back then I wasn't too far out of highschool lmao.

Soo, "2nd" flush sorta, but there's a nice group in Shoebox C! I'm gonna clone it. My question is;
1. Is 2nd flush a good candidate for clones, because there's only a few there. 2. Is there a common knowledge that one flush is better than another?

Damn those are nice.
I’ve cloned as late as fourth flush no problem, not sure if earlier is supposed to be better though.
I took a clone from a bigger third flush maz, the whole flush was like 7 single shrooms and ended up getting the most dense tub I’ve had.

Yo, Inthepit, you cloning tissue from the outside of that fruit? Best way to get a clone sample is to tear the fruit in half longways, then cut a clean sample from the inside.

Oh! Right on LadysKnight! Yer right I forgot the slice in half part. I did go in though, I stripped an outer layer off, then cut less than a rice size piece out. Then did the other side for extra credit. LOL
