These are the same clone, only this one was a wedge right off the tissue plate

And this was a t3

How the hell would u lock down genetics then... like if i took 3 tansfers grew it out and it looked like that, if u wanted to clone that batch u would get another set of random results... fuck i prolly sounds stupid but i dont know how this cloning shit works..
I know clones will give u a less diverse gene pool. U can get what u cloned and a few other randos.. idk anyone have any good links. At work bored would like to read up on this

It was months ago I came across it, I could be totally wrong on the varieties but it was really informative on the whole process.

I (think) I learned a lot from it, but it was pretty complex with all the generations and back crossing.

The most interesting thing for me was that the new traits don’t show until f2 for some reason.

Yeah, I had read that a few places. Makes me feel like I need a case of plates just for this process. I did just find one of Pasty's thread where he spawned a fucking BATHTUB!!!!
got distracted reading through that. haha

Thank you camera93!!
I guess it was that I wasn't spelling out rustywhyte. Found lots of crossing threads and such, just not this one.

Also, very good news. It was CRS and AA+; both of which I have.
Here's the thing though. Would it be easier to try to get rusty spores back in RW or to try to remake RW entirely?
I would be worried I may lose the lucy gene if I cross RW with CRS.

I would just try and germinate some more spores from that print and see if they pop up
If you need a new print, shoot me a :pm: and Ill get one out asap

Mush appreciated Cam! It seems like I have all I need to at least attempt bringing it back. Did a t1 RW plate yesterday so I'll grow those out and see what happens. I certainly don't have the experience or knowledge of the majority of people here, but I kinda wanna try a CRSxAPE just because I have them. If worse comes to worst, I have a buttload of prints to offer for trade if I do need one.
And again, I truly don't remember who this came from and don't want them to think I am not grateful or complaining about it. That is absolutely not the case. I am very grateful to have it, and excited to play around with it!

Well hell boys this corona virus stuff is serious. At least the panic is. I found 3 bottles of 50%iso and nothing else. Even hardware stores and mom and pops are cleaned out. Might have to resort to 10%bleach for Sab work

Can you take a print from one of the fruits and get another generation flushed. I heard it was a recessive Gene. But y'all know way more about genes and strains on this matter.

I've had luck at Family Dollar\Dollar General types. Us poor people don't have the time and money to worry about this Corona bullshit. Haha

I'm gonna give that a go. That's my understanding that's it's recessive so maybe I can get it back just through luck with the spores. I'll have some time to play around with it after I grow these out. May be no need to play around, but still probably will
I have also been looking at crispr kits just for funsies. Still out if my league but damn that looks fun!

I believe when taking a clone like that, your not so much isolating, just cleaning. All of the growth is going to be the same genetics as the fruit the tissue sample came from. I don't you will get much difference in genetics from transferring a clone plate. I would maybe suggest more than 1 transfer just to make sure its clean, but I think you're good as far as the genetics are concerned.

Yup, you wrong brother.

A clone can contain dozens or more sets of genetics easily.  Each mushroom does not only possess the genetic material for that individual mushroom.  True a clone culture will have more consistent results but there is still a lot of room for variation within that slice of the genetic pie.

It's even possible for all the other genetics in your clone to be non-fruiting strains.  So you'd have to isolate the fruiting one or you'd get a tub with mostly nothing and a few of the mushroom you're looking for.  Shit's wild.

Dollar general, dollar tree, big lots, CVS, walgreens, family dollar, Wal Mart, hardware stores, farm and vet supply, all out of iso, and hardware store equivalents . Also damn near out of bleach, slam out of bleach wipes, and only 4 packs of shit tickets between em all. Even drove 30 mins to a dollar store in a tiny tiny town and they were mobbed, shelves all empty.

Shits getting nuts here in hicktown Midwest. Called a buddy and had him snag me 4 bottles of 90 iso of his stores deliveries today.

That's always scary for me.  Enough iso evaporates and I torch outside the box and the fuckin.. vapor trail could wick in there and blow the whole damn thing.  I use a soapy wet hand towel to wipe down the inside now.  Gives a more even, less evaporative coating, imo.

I let my Sab chill for 30 mins after I spray with alc and use a damp towel on the bottom. No bombs yet. Worst I've done is set my scalpel on fire.

I was supposed to go to a huge EDM event this Saturday but they had to cancel it because in the US they aren’t allowing events with more than 250 people attending. This virus can suck my left testicle!!!

Was supposed to be my birthday event  :kingcrankey:

That's total balls. Sorry to hear that.

What's the consensus on melmack potency, does it match PE?
