I accidentally knocked my stack of empty petris over last time I poured (had the flu, delirious), set them out in light and room temp for 2 weeks, not a single contam.

:yeahokaywaitwhat:

edit: I did spray though XD

I poured 60 plates two nights ago and one of the racks wasn't balanced properly in front of my hood. It was like 3AM when this pile of plates came crashing down into the floor. Probably woke up my fam...

Thank fuck I had wrapped a bunch already and they were solidified. Still lost 10+ fuckin plates lol damnit.

Eww.
I switched to 60mm petris and these somebitches dont stack well.
I miss 90mm petris just because of how high i could stack them. Ive knock over stacks of 60mm petris on 3 occasions now. Caught it all 3 times but I know my luck will run out. If I was working on a level solid surfuce it would be alot better but aint shit level and or solid around here. Fk it.

I started my first grow around the same time as you, and I have had similar results. I lost two jars to contam and about half of the remaining ones are days away from full colonization and the other half look like I innoc'ed 'em a week ago. Heck my second run has better growth than some of these!

I'm thinkin' bacteria, cause there's also a lot of moisture around the bottoms of those jars. But in reality I have no idea

Does your local Coco coir contain similar nutrient content to mine?

Don't have a pack to check the specs but that one may be supplemented like some perlite. I do know mine just say 100% coir and coir is the 1 and only thing listed in ingredients. .

Isn’t that exactly the kind of coir that gets β€œtrich treated”?

This is the only coir ive been using and it doesn't contaminate on its own (almost never) so I was just wondering about the nutrient contents in this one, if anyone can confirm or deny that maybe I should switch to some other brand based on the level of water soulbe nitrogen of 60mg/L in this product? Could this be what's naturally present in this product or are these nutrients added?

I've noticed this too. Had to drain my coir for the first time ever with this stuff using the same ratio as always.

Out of season I hope they get more prganics in stock soon shits too cheap. Instead of cutting you can also hydrate the entire brick in a tote with warm water and just use as needed. Thats what I do the coir doesnt go bad. I leave the lid off also though this helps. It can get stinky if you keep it sealed up. Even stinky it performs great lmao.

Eeek.
I know the feeling man.
I have sewer flies. Yup thats right not fruit flies sewer flies.
I keep them under control by pouring boiling water in all the drains monthly and bleach regularly. I also have sticky traps all over the damn house. About 2 per room. 1 per closet and 2 per bathroom.
I cant fucking wait to get out of this place.
They get fucking bad in the summer. I didnt even think about it but wont be any hydrated coir sitting around in the open this summer thats for damn sure. Damn pests.

If you have flies coming in through the pipes, each drain needs a p-trap, it's cheap and simple to install.

All right, hate to change the subject from pests. My wife and I were having a high discussion on something. Has ANYBODY ever tried Mush Coffee. Grind up your dose, mix it with the coffee in the coffee pot???? would it work or would it have to be steeped for a longer period of time to release the chemicals?? AND has anybody mixed with coffee?? I wanted to ask first, I LOVE my coffee and don't want to ruin the taste of coffee for myself.
