Gizmo why not use millet? All the feed stores I’ve been to sell white millet and it’s cheap as hell.

I like millet too but it plugs up my strainer bucket lmao. Then I have to use a pressure washer to unplug. I've used a lot of different grains. My favorite so far is still wheat.

I've been using food grade rye and wheat for years... always wondered why people rinsed and rinsed... it always came so clean to begin with...

Lmao it's super nice to use food grade. Feed grade sucks, but food grade costs quite a bit more.

As for wheat, just go to a feed store and ask for whole wheat and check out my prep tek for info on easy prep
Thankyou! All of them?? Dang, well: 1. It was just T1 2. The Oats were dryer, but not 24 hr dry.
Guess I need to learn the different types of white stuff...
I've been doing this a long time and I'm only now becoming a pessimist regarding my spawn and agar. I started out "its white, its good" that got me no where. I hear people saying that long, feathery growth can be indicative of bacteria. Your jars are very feathery. (I have had feathery spawn fruit well tho)
Bod put it best to me a while back when he said my jars just "looked off" and couldnt explain why. now I know exactly what he was talking about and soon you will too. just take pics and keep notes. use the jars and keep track of success' and failures. before long you'll have acquired a discerning eye for clean spawn and you'll be telling people how you just cant explain how but their jars look off.

See if they have some lying around in bulk bins that you can look at maybe. If they look like whole oats and not rolled or whatever they should be fine

That’s simply unsnailified. If you have one snail. You will have 1000 snails in a matter of weeks with no known predator. While we are on the subject I think there is some new research out about snail breeding and unmodded monotubs. It’s the bees knees.

Hey so I'm wandering if I should case this now with jiffy. 3 58qt tubs melmak oat spawn with coir and verm. When I spawned the bags it smelt stale. Bland earthy. They smell like stale coir now. Any way here is a link to my grow log. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=26393720&page=0&vc=1#26393720
Can anyone give me any tips.
I have a clone of what was given to me as PE (print). I don't know if it is. Here is the parent.

Here is tub of the clone that I cased about 90% with jiffy.

So that's my first real casing. It panned out pretty good. Wondering if I'll need to bottom water these.?
So should I case the 3 tubs now or do melmak need it. They was pseudo cased at spawn. I know they don't blob, but it would help right?
