Well, it says max power is 120 watts which wud be drawing 10amps at 12volts. Your power supply says 2amps. Need more power. Anything allowing a 10amp pull is gonna have thicker gauge wire than that little power supply.

Noob here with a quick question. So far I have successfully spawned BRF to bulk and transfered some into BR that I PCed. those are all coming along fine, I'm just curious what the best spawn is for me to use? Brown Rice has been fine so far but I see alot of people using rye or WBS, is it just preferance and cost? Thanks for any input and all the info I used from lurking to get where I have gotten so far!!

Amazon shows a 5 amp supply normally sold with it!
I'd go 7.5-10amp

So I bought that little induction heater linked in Pic of the day couple days ago I got a 12V 2A power supply wired and it heats the knife up great..but only the 1st inch or so. If i pass the whole length of the tool in the coil it (power indicator) flashes which I assume means shorting out.
Can this be resolved with a higher amp supply?
I dont know much about electricity
That's really cool, I guess it's a DIY bacticinerator. How long does it take to get red hot? My bacticinerator takes about 5 or 6 seconds

I've been able to make every grain I've tried work, but usually use oats for cubes
Pans and Mexicanas I'll use millet or rye
Just curious what someone could have against oats, they are cheap and easy af, and work great
I guess it comes down to whatever grain you know how to prep properly will do better than a grain you dont

Well I think there is some sort of oat specific bacteria that turns people away from it. At least that’s what I’ve heard.

It always seems like they are bacterial when colonizing unless you get them dry and perfect then they look great. I love working with rye now. Myc looks pretty on rye and wbs. On oats it looks thin and whispy to me.

yeah, they just dont look nice when colonized and bacteria can easily slip thru. also I have had what I believe to be the oat specific bacteria and it sucks! I can send anyone some sample oats who wants to try and make em work

Right sounds ridiculous, and I’ve never had an ENTIRE bag of oats become bacterial, but that’s the wives tale that everyone against oats preaches.

ya see ive just recently started using oats and i have been coming around to like them. i even did a batch of wbs last week and i cant get around the fact that cooked birdseed makes me want to puke.
i havent seen a problem with PROPERLY cooked oats, and i personally prefer it to wbs.
i dont do anything special when prepping my oats, dump in oats, fill pot with water about 4 inches above oats. scoop floaters, wait for water to boil. kick the heat down to simmer set a timer for 15 mins, check to see if the inside is clear or still starchy white, if its not clear i set a timer for another 10 mins by that time its about done.
dump in a strainer for an hr then spread it on a towel for about 24 hrs then load jars.
i just started using oats last month take it how u want it, i will try rye when i use up all 70#'s until then i make due with what i have.
