They all look like shit to me. Lmao. But.... If I had to guess I'd say the 2nd one. TOC. It was between that one and the first for me. The first looks a little off though. So you gonna give us the answer? Lol

So oats colonize pretty thick then. The metal lid was my second choice cuz itβs the only one where you canβt see the grain but I figured on wbs thatβs usually a bad thing.
This should be a game in its own thread whoever wins has to post the next days picture. This is exactly the type of thing I need right now.
Wait now that I think about it that only works if you can read your own jars really well.

That would have been my last guess. It had what looks like a invitro pin in it amd looked hella thick and nasty. I knew for sure the last one was bacterial it has those little myc starbusts fingers or whatever that indicates bacteria.

I shoot for three flushes. Maybe I'll wind it down to two as the yield diminishes dramatically after the first two flushes

Depends on the brand of seed. Some brands have oil added.
Is that a parakeet mix?

I don't think so.
I asked for wild bird seed without peanuts, corn, or sunflower seeds. This is what they gave me. They custom mix all of their own seed, I doubt that it has added oil. One of these seeds creates an oily sludge that I've tried to rinse out.
I currently have a batch in the pc, I'll ultimately see for myself. I haven't heard anyone ever mentioning a slimy residue before so I thought it was worth asking about.

I tried quite a few times around 2008 to use birdseed for growing mushrooms. I tried several brands and no matter what everytime I tried it, I would get this disgusting sticky residue/film all over the seeds. No matter how much I rinsed it, I could never get it to go away.
I took a long hiatus from growing shrooms but since getting back into it, and trying oats, I eventually found wheat and I doubt I'll go back to oats at this point. I ran into a lot of weird issues with oats that just never occur with wheat
Have you tried looking for whole wheat and trying to use that instead of oats? I pick mine up from TSC in ontario for $13 for 25kg

If this doesn't work out I'll give it a try, I'm sick of using oats.

No idea if you have one of these near you but if not, I would think a lot of places carrying whole oats will also have whole wheat or at least could order bags in for you
