You can use straight verm, why not do that? The lime lowers ph to prevent mycelium from colonizing the peat.

Back when I cased I used 100% verm. Now I just mix, dust with some more sub, mist and walk away. Given I am not growing anything special with these tubs or even a variation of PE. I know casing is more important to some more than others.

Thoughts?
I think I read where someone used everclear mixed with ground cubes, sat it in a mason jar for a time, filtered it and let the alc evap on a low heat to reduce volume. Said a few drops under the tounge did the trick.

I’m guessing you can just bring powder in a can of “spices” cause dogs aren’t trained to smell mush (I assume). But it still feels sketchy. What’s the most stealthy method?
Ime not with it. I may or may not have brought back a couple k of bud via foot in Texas. Would never ever do shit on an international flight. They dumped all my pills out, inspected each, swirled around any bottles of liquid with a stirring rod, checked all my bag seams, it was nuts. Getting a fed charge fucking sucks.

Ethanol does not dissolve psylocibin or psilocin.
Gypsy can you post a link to that Tek? I'm doing extractions, I'd like to check it out.
Mush through the mail is much safer I would think than a carry-on or luggage. Everything I've sent shows up. Ton of truffles on the way from the Netherlands too ;-}>

I've done it this way twice, International and domestic. Make your own trail mix, pick them out on arrival.

Anyone tried crumbling dried fruits into applesauce? It's bomb. I actually like the taste of pans on their own now that I've tried them. Cubes remind me of dirty gym socks sometimes.

Not sure if this is the place to post this but I'm having trouble getting my mycellium to pinset. I had one successful flush in the past then that myc got contaminated. I only saved one spore syringe and I couldn't get any fruit from that myc either. I bought another spore syringe and now it's been two weeks since introducing to fruiting conditions and no pinset. I think all my conditions are correct, any advice on trouble shooting?

Your saying the crystals may not aqueous? Hadnt thought of that. Will have to do a bit of research first.
An ethanol extraction of 2.5lbs wud yield a baseball sized chunck of black tar nastiness. Im trying to avoid that.

Ya they don't dissolve in alcohol but do dissolve in water. I'm using 30% vinegar in my extraction. The next one I do I'm going to use ethanol to cold crash crystals out of my solution. I did dissolve my extract in beer when I drank it but that's only 5% alcohol.

Oh yeah!! the freezing part of it that i never do. That'll be much easier. You got a link to that? Tried to search for crystals of the gods tek and cudnt find it. A conspiracy to erase certain information?...i think so.

I've been posting my work in this thread. I was following a lab paper I found online but as I tried it their way I found several things they should have done differently. I'll be doing another one this month to show a practical way to achieve the same results. I talk about what went right and what went wrong doing it their way.
Crystals of the gods found it, reading it right now.
Just read it. It might work bc 180 proof alcohol is 10% water. Half of the 'proof' is what percent alcohol. If I were to do this Tek I would use 100ml water instead of using alcohol. Then I would filter it and reduce the water until it starts to thicken and while it's still hot I would add about 100ml ever clear that's been in the freezer. Should cause a precipitate to fall out of solution. That's cold crashing.
We should do a side by side just to see. That tek prob does work I just think the alcohol could be used more efficiently. Where I am they aren't producing ever clear anymore or 151, the ppl at the liquor store said once it's sold there won't be any more.

What are those? Mine don't have the hulls still on them but I buy wheat berries from the bulk section of our grocery store. Maybe those are for feed or something.

Yes they're fine, squeeze the kernel out from the hull, cut the kernel in half to check how hydrated it is. If the center is entirely white keep going until they test clear. It takes roughly 30 mins at a boil.
