The environment is full of mold spores. Your clothes and skin included. This is why you use a SAB or flowhood.

So I started my first grow with a few 1 lb all-in-one grow bags (Boom Bag) and a 3 lb Millet grain spawn bag to do a bulk substrate monotub. The monotub is colonizing nicely but has a ways to go, but one of my Boom Bags is starting to grow actual mushrooms. I started exploring and gathering information in mid November and 2 months later I am going to have a small crop. Can someone tell me when I should be able to harvest some of these? They are KSSS. I took these pictures this morning. I’m SUPER EXCITED!

It's not as if they're unusable, I just know a lot of folks prefer practically anything else like wheat, rhy or wbs.

Just boil until the starch is clear or nearly clear (usually 30ish mins). Dry overnight by spreading out, pc as per usual. Easy shit.

Lookin good Hobbit!
Am I the only one on this site that gets worse results from clones than MS? I've ran probably 15 different cube clones, with every single one of them preforming subpar. The only advantage I've found is that some are faster on grains and are nice and easy to get looking good on agar. But the yields aren't any better. A lot of times I'll get good pinsets, but of tiny fruits.

Cover the face of your hood with cardboard, this will prevent dust and what not from settling on your fins while not in use.

Is this a custom dehydrator?

I just spawned my first few clones but I’ve been wondering that myself. I haven’t had one bad grow so far with ms, and that’s even going syringe to grain.
The clones are really gonna have to pack in the pins to be significantly better than my prior grows.

These are my first clone tubs. I feel like the pins were thick and they are going to mature to early because over hydrated sub. I have another that's so covered that every part of the surface is pins. But they seem skinny. The water isn't evaporating. I hope my big tubs are better. They are all clones of two best pe6. The shoeboxes all turned out small fruits.

Oats are great, although I prefer wheat or rye for stones as the oat hulls get stuck to sclerotia. For oat prep just fill a pot 1/3-1/2 full with oats then add water till till mostly full and bring to a boil. After a few minutes at full boil the grain should be tender. Do not overcook. Strain and spread out on mesh screens to dry. After a few hrs, when dry to the touch, load and PC. EZ AF. Anything after that is contam from you or your culture. The oat side is strong.

I just put them in a pot and heat till it starts to boil. Then turn down to simmer for 20 min. Dump in a colander and strain. I let it sit like that for twenty min while I wash jars then load and pc. I let the steam dissipate as I load jars. I leave them open until they're all ready for pc. Hardly ever get bacteria. I don't boil hard just simmer. Then I do a bite test to see if the inside is soft but not squishy. Hardly any burst grains as long as I turn the PC down after it's vented and reaches pressure. If I forget to turn it down I get starchy grains at the bottom. I love oats, wbs is ok but I have faster colonization and higher success rate with wheat berries.
4 days to colonize 3 gallons worth. The two on the left were just shaken due to a couple uncolonized spots, jar in the right never shaken. Got 4 monos a week into colonization, started those jars 12 days ago. Slurryinahurry tek
