The red circle is where I've noticed it. So far I've read that increased FAE might help. The biggest fruit you see is about and Inch and a half. They're Hualta.

They gotta be 100% white. If you did MS (syringe) it can take about 1 month for them to fully colonize. Those are pretty close. I've never done it too soon but maybe someone here has and had success.

After looking closer I might actually spawn those in the next day or so.

Looks like bacteria central.
I’d spawn them and keep a close eye. You should get a decent flush or 2, but the yield will suffer due to the contam.

It’s the exposed grains touching the glass, plus wet-looking mycelium. The uncolonized grains are the big bacteria red flag.

It's just something that goes hand-in-hand when you use oats. Unless dried properly they usually carry an Oat bacteria. Usually get a couple of flushes out of it anyway

I left these oats in the refrigerator in colanders overnight, what else does proper drying entail? Also, would you say they are good to go into the tub or should I wait a day or two longer? I still haven't soaked the coir so I'll need to wait at least that long.

I pour max-hot tap water over my grain, then spread it out on an old towel. 1 hour later it’s completely dry on the outside 🤙

That’s just to dry them off.
To hydrate, I soak for 24-36 hours in room temp. water.

I know yellow is better cause it maximizes inoculation points, but it freaks me out. You know how some grains look uncolonized but are? That shit drives me nuts

Yep. The peace of mind is worth it for me. Otherwise I’m staring at jars for hours on end looking for metabolites or mold lol

Hi, I'm not sure if I'm in the right place, but I had to start somewhere..
I decided to do a mold test in the house, and this started growing within 3 days. These pics are after 5 days. There was only this one colony in the petri dish, so I cropped the rest of the dish out.
Thanks in advance for any insight.
