Fuck tinfoil now? I still like using it. Bod isnt the decider of whats in and whats out If you are using anything other than sfds for filter material then foil is pretty handy.

If you use synthetic filter discs foil isnt needed. Eat and bod both have said they dont. Micropore or poly still need them.

Why risk it? Ive had micropore fall apart on me after getting wet and poly can definitely let water in during the cycle, ive had it happen. Why skip a step that literally takes 2 seconds per jar?

I still use tinfoil and I use SFD lids
I like them being nicely covered when moving from PC to flow

I use foil when I’m pressure cooking utensils and pour lids for liquid inoculation. If I used micropore or poly I might actually use it.

Moisture trapped under the foil is different than a legit rainstorm of water flowing over your filter material, but to each their own I guess

damn great discussion, ive always used tin foil whether it be sfd, poly or mp tape, ur telling me i dont need foil and its preference, if thats the case, fuck foil...
ive always thought that u dont want any of ur filter material wet, i mean ya they get damp from steam but dry out pretty quick...

I have never had poly or micropore get soaked during a cycle except on pasty plates that were stacked

prolly can get around that by putting the hole in the side of the pasty plate, i just like the idea of not having to use something if i dont need too, foiling a large number of plates is kinda a pain in the ass...

Yeah I wrap stack of 6 at a time of 2oz and 4 high of 8oz no pours. Uses lots foil but don't have to wrap as many. I just made 40 no pour plates. I have ³ batches right now. All lil different. I like my wbs soak agar cause it's really clear.

I also take my shit out of the pc right away, the only thing the foil stops is raining moisture when the pc cools.
