Sounds legit. But then, I think I'll just kick that goal and stop spending that effort.

Yeah I hear you man it’s a lot of work seems like unless you’re real serious about long term. I’m just getting into cloning I started out wanting to isolate too but seems like cloning is much quicker with higher success.

What would work, is if someone had already some great fruiters and would scrape something into a culture tube with sterile/distilled water. Then he could sell (don't know how that's done, just read in some posts that people receive spore prints from time to time) that to us and send it via mail...like spore prints

not very experienced an eye but that bottom plate looks scary. didnt see it addressed, i'd transfer from 1oclock on top circle, then away from satellite on center/right- say 4oclock and bottom, pwew, maybe 2:30 it just dont look right opposite there.
good luck narrowing it down, Pastywhyte has some good reads on isolating, others as well current and past TCs included.

I think there are NEWB stages.
1.Holy shit I don’t know what I’m doing and I need to question everything!
2.Fuck, I got this, I am the champion, I know what I’m doing!
3. Shit I thought I knew but everything is going south. I suck!
4. Damn, I learned enough to know that I don’t actually know shit. Some good grows but Man, there’s so much to learn.
I am in stage 4 I beleive. There might be more stages but I don’t know them yet.
My question is....why do so many people want rhizo growth or isolates? I’ve had lots of success with tomentose and rhizo but when I find a good productive line, I go with it. I’ve had some amazing grows from ms 3 or 4 transfers (maybe luck?) with ms plates (which I always saved the culture in case it’s worthy.). I’m not doubting or being sarcastic, I really want to know. I personally love seeing rhizo growth because it’s cool AF to look at on agar but never had a plate better than a tomentose plate noticeably.

oh, there is some gorgeous good myc in there, for sure- and if all plates are showing that wispy stuff on the one i singled out then yah, wait for better eye to say. itis weird, you're on t6 with these and they still haywire? i see a lot to chase, problem is you dont know potential until fruit and by then you could be holding a dud. also, ten plates, heh, always good problem to have

In the end, all we want are some great flushes with many shrooms. If I think about it, I don't care whether I get there via isolate or clone or whatever.

I’m a bit of an agar freak, it is all pretty! I have been watching ps.cyan growing out (aquarium and outdoor tubs) and I love watching that stuff grow. It’s beautiful! The aquarium is by my bed, watch it every night lol don’t judge me people! Mycellium growing is freakin sexy! I’ll bring that shit to a mycellium watchers anonymous group if needed.
Should this be confessions thread? 😝

Still pretty new to this myself and due to my own mistakes in printing, I sort of force myself into agar early on. I highly recommend it. Despite being very daunting at first, it is tons of fun. And after only six months or so of back and forth agar transfers I have a fairly stable GT strain giving me absolutely massive fruits, as seen in my signature pics.
Is agar necessary, no. Have I truly isolated this GT strain yet, no. But it gives you more ability to select the traits that you like (size, potency, abundance, etc) as well as saving select cultures for later use. I'm a bit of a wannabe scientist so I truly enjoy this kind of stuff but it really isn't as hard as it seems and has its benefits, though not necessary.

So I spawned 7qt MNAPE to one monotub today. Hoping to come back from my skiing trip to a nice canopy. Would be a good final harvest for 2019.

These were are the third flush. I don't have a tub pic of that flush but this was the 4th. These guys kinda turned into my pet project. I love them but now I'm trying to get all my forgotten variants going again. I miss my CRS and EC.

Prepped these two fattys last night. Probably pushing 6qt each. Don't have any LC or masters ready, but I was out of jar lids so I finished my oats off with bags. Gonna just toss a whole plate culture in each. Apparently I need a few dozen more jar lids. I just hate the metal ones. Maybe I'll suck it up an glue the bands to the tops to make em 1 piece metal lids.
