Not really sure I ran a ton of tubs very similar to the 2 pictured there last year. Had about an lb of blobs in the end

Anyone know what this infection is, what is causing it, and how to prevent it?

Lecanicillium? This usually causes them to wilt/ abort half way through maturity but often causes splitting and a fuzz can been seen on the caps, fruits will feel soon get. Another option would be pseudomonas but that usually leaves the spots brown on the stripe where yours seem blue

I've seen that before in a couple lucistic grows. Thought it was odd air flow bruising shit. Was never all over the tub. I figured cuz the fuzzy bases wud unfuzz and leave blue marks.

Thanks for info. It definitely is killing them if it gets too bad. The caps shrivel up the whole fruit aborts. Wondering if it is airborne or came from the spawn.

Is it bacterial?
If so I had some success using this and it doesnt hurt the mycellium or shrooms. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23653379

A bit of a curiosity popped in my head this morning and thought this would be the best forum to share.
The only grains that I have worked with are popcorn and WBS. With both, as they colonize the seeds\kernels compact and draw together. is the mechanism behind this an actual pulling of the mycelium that draws the individual kernels together, or is it more from nutrients and moisture being used as the mycelium consumes the grain? it doesn't happen to the same extent when an uninoculated grain jar is just left to set, and they break up to pretty much the same volume once shaken, so it doesn't look like a significant amount of mass is being used during just colonization.

Nice! Looks like you cased? Prob a good idea for open air.
Y’all ever just not shake jars and let them finish when they do after inoculation?

I've done that before, takes awhile. Unless doing G2G. I usually just do 1 shake, unless I have some worry of contamination.
