That true? Is that why the edges of my subs get fuzzy and dont hold condensation? I thought there was air flowing under the lid, falling down and drying it out slightly.
I dont use a fan and my sides dont dry out.
I'm not using a fan either. That'd be from whats that called..convection?

Whatcha think? Any way I can identify bubble mold early on?

To me that looks like its got bacteria. The little blobs look like under the surface knots. I reccon you will get few mushrooms pop and then it will contaminate. It doesnt matter how many mold spores you have in your house its how clean your spawn is. Average room 3 billion mold spores already
Idk why you think it’s bacterial. The spawn was clean🤷🏻♂️. Under the surface pins? Really never heard of that. I didn’t case if that’s what you mean.
And idk, I’ve had literally 0 contams in this apartment. Usually at least a couple plates/jars would go green. I assume it’s the spore load since my sterile tek is unchanged.

Is this a PE variety?
Yep, original PE. I’ve grown other penile varieties, and there was never this many little blobs.

@field,just a quip on spore load, I was asking questions about spore load in my apartment ect. and Bod pointed out that field mycologist use SAB outside with success Since then, I've stopped thinking its the spore load in my apartment, or worrying that dumping commentated petries in the trash is gonna ruin future grows. I was trying to convince myself that my satellite outbreaks were due to opening a sporulating no pour slower, more precise movements showed that was a lie

Feldman, I believe I know the answer to this question but, did you use a casing layer? True casing. Maybe you've already answered this, I'm sorry if you have. I'm glad you did camera, I was going to say I wouldn't think it would be that bad. Unless you're in a room of oysters.

Maybe its just the photos but usually for me I get that almost shiny layer of mycelium when there is a contamination. Sometimes spawn can look clean. The knotting under the surface is due to the surface conditions being shitty.

Thanks for the help everyone, I really do appreciate it. And sry for the sloppy response, can’t format these things right on my phone.
Yeah PE loves casings, but I only have coir and didn’t wanna get bags of verm & peat just for a couple of tubs. Did a pseudo casing, as always. Not sure it would help in this part of the country. The RH barely falls below 75% outdoors. Right now it’s 90+...I can prolly take the lid off a tub and it’d not dry out.
That’s not thick myc, it’s the blobs/bubbles. Surface was perfectly fluffy and white a day before, complete with tiny water beads and 100% Rh (according to a shitty electronic hydrometer). That’s mostly what got me worried - the blobies are covering like 80% of the surface.

It's gotta be blobs. Ed- your APE should be good, used casing and no casing. Both work, no difference. I always go pseudo casing at spawning.

That PE box looks normal to me.
They are often mistaken as "mycogone" and other weird contaminations that people rarely get. I have read several reddit threads where people told the guy to throw the whole grow. I bet he could have gotten some potent ass blobs and a second flush of real mushrooms.
I would keep an eye on it but, more than likely you have the blob formations starting.
Here's an example of them as they grow larger... (the pictures say they are deleted, click on them, they still work once zoomed in)

Blobs take on many forms I've experienced a few weird ones. But they've been some of the strongest fungi I've taken.

Thats a gnarly harvest, I’d probably slice them up thin and dry em like that, make some magic potato chips. Maybe a little salt and pepper lol...
Still haven’t gotten my hands on the blobbing (SW-PE) yet. Been pretty happy with this OG-PE line so far(aka melmak but that was just a clone)
