Possibly. It's supposed to shrink with colonization. I normally give 24hr soak to be sure cuz ive noticed after 12hrs they may drink more. But you prolly fine dude. Jst give her some light and a light mist from a distance now and then and talk sexy to her. Fanning is unnecessary.

I'd highly recommend surrendering all the way. FOLLOW ESTABLISHED TEKS BY TRUSTED SOURCES OF MYCO KNOWLEDGE. In what aspect of life does it make any sense for a beginner to approach a bunch of experts, admit they know nothing, ask for help and then refuse to follow multiple experts who ALL AGREE on how he should proceed to most probably and more expeditiously be swimming in magic.
If you would have "surrender" a couple months ago, you would've easily met and far surpassed your goal of 200 G by christmas. But here you are, surrendering on an idea that NOONE supported in the first place.
I love you man, but life's way of teaching those who won't listen to the more subtle hints of the passing wind is to bitch slap the fuck out of them. Those who won't learn from even several divine bitch slappings are doomed to a real struggle at whatever it is they are trying to accomplish.

At least its clean...
I found that once I had a handle on why I was doing, what I was doing, when was doing it, it's hard NOT to grow mushrooms... biggest thing was figuring out when cutting corners was a no: spawn generation...

I've been keeping some mycelia going for a few years, just from transfers and making LI. I've had terrible luck. Could these be harboring nasties?

By rue you mean rye? correct? I'd get rye, personally. I hate oats but some people like them. Get back to use when you've got the grain.
PS. It's your sterile work that really needs help though.

Good shit dude. Have had several devine bitch slappings of my own. Some people, myself included, are very stiff clay. Life becomes much easier and in turn more enjoyable when you stop fighting it so damn much. It's bigger than us anyway.
Edit: Fuck oats Rye is bad ass. WBS is badder assed.

I hate oats too, I still have 10 pounds in the garage I let the mice have em
I had some decent grows from oats but I was also battling way more weird contams and bacterial issues than I ever did with wheat. Maybe it was my fault but my success rate with wheat is far higher and wheat is cheaper here, so..win win

Oh come on now! Oats are cool... never used rye: try both and decide for yourself... or : get what's cheapest/closest and learn proper prep for the grain in question... I suspect that (properly prepped) grain is grain: containing a level of easily accessible nutrition that surpasses the needs of the culture over the course of the life of the substrate... maybe there's a distinct difference somewhere, but IME with a few different grains, once you have prep down, they'll all go multiple flushes and render negligibly different results ...
THAT SAID, WBS seems to be MUCH more forgiving with hydration, and resisting bacteria: oats are not lol
Its not our mistakes which define us, but our actions proceeding forward... even these can be mistakes: emotional snap judgements and reactions... there comes a point when a mistake is just a fuck up: when you know better already... GUILTY! Life (not just our own) goes better when you dont try to force it... instead, slightly influence it's own nature and allow it flow it's course... if it goes as intended, GREAT! if not, you're closer than you were

Go back to your thread and read what we told you in the first couple pages.
Step one Make clean agar cultures. (And get some fucking shallower containers)
Post pics in your thread for critique, once it is confirmed clean
Step two, Put clean agar culture on sterilized grain (any grain, whatever is easy to get and prep, UTSE for a tek if you cant figure it out)
Step 3 Wait for the agar to colonize the grain and post pics when its close.
Step 4 g2g or spawn to coir.
Step 5 harvest.
Its really that simple. Youβre something else
