@ meaculpaUIO
Generally when people say nutrition they tend to mean a complete food source. Mycelium need various nutrients to grow and fruit properly (which varies). These nutrients include things like: Carbon (usually carbohydrates), proteins (nitrogen), vitamins, potassium, calcium, etc.
Coir is rich in carbon (carbohydrates), but lacks various other nutrients such as protein (nitrogen).
There are other factors also, but it gets very complicated to a newbie.

Hey everybody
Day 17, still not much happening. The white fluffy balls got just a little bit bigger and I noticed that the cake is going down in volume, is everything ok?

lets discuss this practice; after you dropped multiple agar wedges in a jar, you give it a good shake to bury the pieces. to give them the best amount of surface contact.
good or bad? ethical? does it cause contams, dead mushrooms, lawsuits
let's beat the mushroom:

Why use multiple wedges?
I just drop one small wedge. Wait for it to grow and shake.

Multiple wedges is multiple times you could potentially contaminate the jar.
Contamination comes from contaminating your shit.

I always flip my jars over in a way that gets the agar buried. I basically do a cart wheel with the jar and it perfectly handles burying the agar.
And no, it doesn't cause dead babies or lawsuits.

I Shake at inoculation. If you have good grain prep and culture you’ll get plenty of satellites. Then a shake at 40% or so and it’s good to go

Same. turn jar sideways just past horizontal(wedge down), roll 180, turn back up. Just a little finagling and you'll see how easy it is to position a wedge.

I been cutting a circle round the myc then a plus through it. Stab each piece to load them on my scalpel and use the inner top of the jar againt the wedges to slide them off the blade.
Honestly i dnt thnk that is better than jst whole-puckin'it. The wedges jst sandwich together and get all fucked up and dont really create more than one inoculation point anyway.

This
I usually just drop in a nice fat wedge and shake the hell out of it. Sometimes I'll wind up with so many noc points that I dont even have to shake again till spawn.

Leucistic varieties, is it normal for these things to kind of grow in light gray before the mycelium gets thicker and white?
I am growing LGT and it is tripping me out sometimes it looks like mostly grayish until it gets thicker
