I'd stick with jars and polyfil man.

I would do that too, but the cost like $7 here, and i need 20 of them. But i guess i could use polyfill in those containers aswell, if that is better than micropore tape?

Yeah I dont think micropore is adequate for a gas exchange filter.  Polyfil or add.  Polyfil is dirt cheap

I have both  ,22um sfd syringe filters and micropre tape, and aceess to polyfill, so i guess i can try them all..

Guess i'm more curious about your opinions on if i should use BRF/Verm or Grain in those containers, and if it's OK to shake them either way.

You dont shake verm and brf, you just wait for full colonization and grate at spawn if you want to use it for bulk

they should be fine for either and I’d vote sfd’s or polyfil instead of/better than mp tape too.

Thank you.

OK. I guess I'll try those IKEA containers. Wuold you recommend brf/verm over grain (wbs and oat are my options)?

Only reason to do brf over grain is if you dont have a PC IMO(or want to use ms syringes)

Any glass jar will do, and I’ve used both oats and smaller wbs type grains with success, whatever you can buy and prep easiest is fine,

Those containers look like they would be perfect for Muda bottles

I stuffed Polyfill and then flamed the fuzz off.

This grain worked soo well.

I've never thought about flaming the poly to clean it up.  Do you think it will restrict GE at all?

Mind you I'm just a noob, but the poly can still breathe, all that funky fuzz is off,the melted poly "toughened" up the ball. So I felt fine "shaking the sh*t" out of oats!

Yeah.. I can't get those ziplock's either..

So https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/ikea-365-food-container-with-lid-round-plastic-s79269104/ it is then, with the sfd syringe filter glued to the lids.

Gonna go with wbs as it's the easiest for me to score.

Thanks for helping guys

https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/ikea-365-food-container-round-plastic-00359145/

Tbh these would work for 1/2 the cost, I’d wrap the lip with a strip of plastic wrap for extra security.

I dont really like the flaps on the ones you posted because they are extra that has to pass over the mouth of the jar when removed

Heyo!

I haven't done MS in years, but I will for PF Tek just cause I have everything available and I want to fuck with cakes a bit.

I have my own prints I made, I think they are relatively clean.

Anything I can do to make sure its all good? I was going to PC a syringe with water with the jars, or is that too long for the syringe?

Best up to date syringe tek would be great.

Read that again boo

And really with ENOUGH CLEANLY CULTURED AGAR: you actually could!

Pastywhyte is perfecting a technique similar using polar fleece strips instead of coir: BUT STERILIZED AND COLONIZED IN STERILE CONDITIONS...

Look up "trainwreck"

It has nutrition, more if you boil it, and it is one of the substrates that we sterilize the least. Its in the complete opposite end of the spectrum that grains are, for instance.

When I'm asking if you can take a pin or a very small mushroom to agar directly, I'm of course talking about how viable it is, how common it is.

Not whether or not you can do it absolutely. You can do almost anything, but it might be hard, easy or uncommon to pull off.

Pour a bowl of Iso-alcohol 70% then suck up iso into syring and dip syringe into alcohol then put on gloves.

Take syringe out and excrete iso into sink and suck up one more syringe full and excrete back into the iso.

Suck up boiling water and spray into sink at least 5 times.

Now you will have a clean syringe ready for use.

You could just use boiling water and skip the iso:rolleyes:
