Hey nate. Yeah tubs 1 & 3 are covered with them. I've had PE blob b4, but this is accompanied by yellow bacteria water and a sharp dusty mold smell. I mean these boxes smell really strong dude

Hmmmm, okey then. I gave it a light mist like 2 days ago, still has some teeny tiny droplets, i think they can be seen from my pics. Would you suggest misting again? Or leting it be?

I wouldn't mist again until those drops evaporate. Seems to me that it was allowed to dry out to much in the past. Overmisting now won't cure that and will be harmful. Just stay on top of it and make sure it doesn't get too dry again. How old are the tubs?

It is very likely, due to it being unmodded i neglected it a bit near a window. The thing is that it is spring around here and last few days ago it was hot like hell.
The tub is just a week old. Spawned with what appeared to be very clean spawn. Spawned 1:3 coir!
Thanks for the input mate, i'll do so for sure

PS. i also think your tub is fighting some bacteria or something but i can't know for sure without knowing more details about how it has been maintained thus far. In any case, just don't let it dry out too much and watch what happens. Post pics if anything strange pops up and toss it if anything colorful pops up.

Couple questions:
When talking about prepping grain on the dry side, are we talking outer surface moisture or under hydration? If I wanted to prepare some on the dry side to accommodate for the excess moisture from LI or LC would I dry longer before PC, or hydrate less via shorter boil/soak?
And, whats the experience with using "bowed" no mod plastic lids? I have the black actual "Ball" brand, but used them once before and musta had the lids tight cause they kinda caved in the middle can i still use these lids? or toss um and pay better attention next time? thanks all

Both/ either or. You really have to figure it out for yourself. Bottom line is if your grain is already holding as much water as it physically is able... adding more water isn't a good idea. It all depends on how you prep your grain though. In my experience, it isn't really as tough as people think though. I guess it's easy for someone who knows how to ride a bike to tell someone who doesn't that it's easy but, Unless you're making huge bags, I wouldn't trip to much. Just be sure you get the grain prepped nicely and you'll more than probably be fine. Unless you plan on adding huge amounts of LC.
The lids should be fine.

I would be careful not to underhydrate grains too much, even if you're gonna noc with LC, because if you try to G2G them they may not recover efficiently. I made a batch of milley pints too dry and then nocced with LC. When I G2G them into other grains the underhydrated recieving grains have been slow to colonize if at all. When spawned the dry colonized millet eats the moist coir nicely. I also G2G some to slightly wet oats and had good colonization compared to the dryish wheat. A little dry can work especially if hit with LC, but dry on dry is no bueno.

Millet is tricky to hydrate perfect in my limited experience, just getting to the end of my first bag, and dry millet is slow AF, Iβve had masters from LI take 2 months when prepped dry,
I agree with verum that theres no beed to worry about dryer grains unless youβre making bags, and also what quirk said about dry on dry is true, dry grains can take alot longer for g2gβs, if you notice the master is a bit dry def dont put it to more dry grains,

If I have a half gallon jar of colonized wbs that is half full and I spawn it to a mono tub of coir/poo/verm 1/1/2 does that mean I should only expect 2oz bc I only used 2x quarts of spawn?

Thats just a good guess for what you'll get from a "good" culture. Could be more, could be less. It depends an myriad variables.

What confuses me about that is let's say I spawn it 1/3 to hpoo. Once it's colonized that's 3 quarts of poo substrate plus one quart grain. Shouldn't the hpoo portion of the substrate contribute to the yeild? 4 quart substrate = 4oz?
I ask bc I'm trying to relearn mono tubs. If my substrate choice isn't going to impact yeilds as much as the quality/quantity of my spawn then I know where to focus my efforts. I have a few days before my jar hits 100%. It sounds like the best choice is to g2g so I have more spawn instead of spawning my tub?
