Should I wait until I see pins to flip the lid on this mini tub?

I would fruit at spawn. Flip as soon as it's spawned imo

And was it poo from a stall or outside ?
Thanks, I will as soon as possible. Now that the mycelium has started to take to the poo, the smell is subsiding quite a bit. Now it's a fresh, slight smell kinda like pure forest soil.
The poo was from a pasture, it didn't smell at all when I collected and prepared it, even though I had to vacuum up quite a few gnats from my floor after being done with the work... thankfully apparently any eggs were killed by the pasteurization cycle as I have no gnats in the tubs.
Currently I'm kinda hopeful about the grow, I'll see. I haven't cased yet, I'll plan on casing with .5 inch of peat casing when fully colonized.

So check this out. I was going through my supplies this morning and got my WBS and noticed the whole thing was colonized idk how the heck that happened. Must’ve been some strong spores or a colonized kernel must’ve fell in there at some point. It’s crazy though

It was weather-washed aged horse poo from a pasture. I have no idea how old it was, but it was free from poo smell. It had been raining for weeks when I picked it, so it was light brown and wet, and had a consistency similar to peat soil. Prepared using RR's recipe, and babysat throughout the pasteurization process (>2 hours above 140F, measured in two locations, core and periphery), and left to cool overnight.
Anyway, the smell I mentioned was a sweetish scent of ferment in my shoeboxes two days after spawning. As I mentioned it's mostly gone now, replaced with a nice soil smell with a hint of mushroom. I'm suspecting I shouldn't have stacked the boxes, as it cut off FAE. Now that they are spread out, and the lids only gently placed on (not pushed in place), the mycelium seems happier.
It's the fourth day, and it's colonizing nicely, though the black of the substrate is still visible among the mycelium.

So i bought some medical cloth tape as a micropore tape fill-in. Has anyone used medical cloth tape? Will it work the same as micropore tape?

I use 3M 'Durapore' cloth tape, hasn't failed me yet, pretty sure it's about the same as what you're describing

The areas that are more thickly colonized have nice droplets of moisture. Haven't misted since spawning. Thinking I should have the lid flipped but this is my first tub so I'm second guessing everything.

Some of us fruit at spawning, some of us wait until we see pins grow for a day or two and establish and then flip on the fae.
Do what your heart desires and youll find your rythm.

Mhm. Frost kills. They can handle down to the 40s, after that youll lose them in about 24-36 hours.
I can send you cuttings buddy. Just let me know when youre ready when weather allows.

yeah they thrive over here too, besides the winter. But the summer is like... 3 feet minimum of growth every year and close to 60+ pups. Not sending friends cuttings is a recipie to a problem in just over 2 seasons with that kindof growth lol.
Out there i found i had to mist mine with a mister, leaves and all for them to flourish, and water every other day depending on weather.

Alright, im done with this shit for a while, for several reasons. Imma spawn the rest of these 50 jars, harvest the fruits, and fuck off.
Being a minimalist/gypsy i refuse to lug shit around so i guess imma bundle up my vacuum sealer, plates, dehydro, 23qt presto, coir, lighting, etc and sell it in the marketplace.
