Sh4d0ws It's a HEPA filter with ionic filtering. Works the same as a flow hood but the bag becomes the workspace. The bag has positive pressure which keeps things from falling in and I never have to worry about contams accumulating in my workspace. It's disposable. My trash-bag-box works extremely well but it does look funny. Best $40 I've ever spent.
It works well enough I'm confident in everything I do in it. If I get a contam it's bc of something I put in there not bc my equipment is substandard. I'm able to keep taking transfers off the same agar plate for days without it contaminating.

That's what I attempted the first time before pulling them out individually but I did it clumsy af. I need to try it with this busted sleeve of plates to practice the easiest way

Spiritlands - Whats the efficiency rating on that gizmo?
And i have never had such a problem with plates. For a while b4 i changed my SAB and fucked everything up i was jst removing them in open air b4 putting them in the SAB. Upped my contam rate jst slightly. Jst make sure you keep them closed. Also, if you got the whole sleeve in the SAB why dnt you jst cut the plastic long ways.

so, this is mainly a question for cron but anyone feel free to answer and help me out.
is it ever worth wile taking a clone from a "clone-culture" or are you just bottle necking yourself into senescence. I've got a couple cultures I could either clone the clones of or revert to the original tissue culture. problem is the original plate has multiple strains that would need to be re-sorted. I lost the already sorted plates I want to keep the genetics as strong as possible. I've been reading alot about this lately and cron, you've been shedding a lot of light on my confusion. thanks for the informative posts and funny analogies!

If you have a coir top layer this is less of a problem.
They all had psuedo casing at spawning and padded it down nice. Still pulled up chunks. Leaving the lowcut stumps, will that cause issues or cause other pins not to form.?

Do P.galindoi need lots of fresh air when pinning or fruiting or both?

it's a HAPF30 HEPA type A filter.
Well, I'll put it this way. I can actually trust the work I do using this. I've taken 4-5 transfers of the same area of rhizos on this agar over a couple weeks and nothing has contamed. Including the original agar which is almost completely colonized and clean. I've been in and out of this agar every few days. This open air picture was taken in the flow hood when I harvested the first transfers of rhizos.^^^
If I get a contam it's bc I must have introduced it. I had some bacteria last month bc I didn't bleach wipe some reused pitris and I have a little mold that Snuck in on a wild baeocystis print. Even while working on these dirty ones in the same session I still produce clean transfers consistently. I use 100% IPA between sessions.
These are some of those transfers growing out

They do if you want non-spaghetti fruit and fully matured/printable caps.

So even to the extent that an hour out the tub sprayed would be beneficial?

To pin, they don't need anything different than cubes. But yes, for fruiting, to grow short with bigger caps, then need a greenhouse or to be outside. The hour out of a tub wouldn't help much, and might risk messing them up and getting a bunch of aborts. At least that's what I found when I mess with them too much. If you do them in a tub without modified FAE, you just have to expect stringy shrooms.

What’s the differential in potency in regards to cube fruits vs galindoi fruits? I’m spawning at 100% colonization and not waiting for sclerotia, because i’Be heard the fruits are stronger than cubes and the sclerotia they form.
Also, does anybody know the true taxon of this species? Is it tampanensis var galindoi or is it psilocybe galindoi? I’ve heard it both ways and don’t know what to believe

If you spawn to coir and grow till it farts out you get stones in the substrate, which is my goal with this.

WEll i know there will be stones after fruiting, and im planning on cloning one to get a good stoning culture, but really i was more interested in the potency of the fruits and it's taxonomy.
My only issue with growing sclerotia in jars is the potency and storage issue. Drying them brings them down to around 1/2-3/4 the potency of dried cubes, and you can only store fresh stones for so long in perfect conditions, and i dont trust that my friends will store them properly. Then i have to hear about it
