Read the manual Or this website there are many threads explaining how to use one

I am confident it is reaching 15 psi and the instructions say to add 3 Qt of water when canning. I don't think I even lost 1 Qt running it for 2 hours. Grain came out beautifully. Except for 2 warped PP5 containers. I'm guessing the lid got pushed on all the way due to the pressure and the pressure difference warped the plastic a bit. Oh well, next time I'll put the lid on even looser.

Water boils at around 212 at sea level atmospheric pressure, around 250 @ 15 psi, you dump the pressure with your grains at 250 they are going to start boiling dry and stressing jars as said. This hobby is 95% patience and waiting, if you can't wait a few minutes for pressure to drop or overnight to inoculate you are going to struggle with this hobby.

Good place to buy a few tyvek sleeves??? I really do not want to spend $100 on a big box right now. Any advice? Thank you Dick

I bought mine on ebay, they're very cheap. You don't really need them though, but it's never a bad idea to take some extra precautions.

Your grains have a really good chance of exploding as well.

Dude how do you do that with an AA. I feel like it's a waste of nuclear submarine if it could only be run at 15 psi and higher pressures should take care of extra fucky grains.

How to safely upgrade AA to sterilizer
The best part IMO even than the higher psi is that it is a closed system, really no water loss no matter how long you run it, you could do multiple runs without adding water.Quote:

my last three runs or so, a good handful of jars get absolutely cooked to hell in the first half inch of the jar. There's always water at the end though. The two things I can figure are either cooking too hot or releasing the weight and pressure real fast

trying to learn more about endospores and their relevance, found this quote:

i thought that the unfinished grains would still be sterile.
Not so. A little understood fact is that it would take about 24 hours at 15 psi to achieve complete sterilization of grains, reducing them to mush. When we 'sterilize' for an hour or two, we only provide a two to three week window of opportunity for the grains to get colonized before surviving competitors get a foothold. When a grain jar goes longer than that and still isn't colonized, chances are very good that it's contaminated with bacteria. RR
i didn't realize this and prepped 30 or so jars in advance, but i'm still waiting on some agar and master jars to finish colonizing. by the time i inoc it'll probly be 2 weeks since they were prepped
can i just run the jars through another pc cycle before i inoc? or should i toss them and prep new grain when everything's ready?

I'd re prep those grains. Maybe even re soak them. Depending on how they look when you go to use them of course. For now you may want to keep them refrigerated or something
Edit: For some reason I read that you had agar in the mail and figured you havent even strated using it yet. I figured you would be longer than 2 weeks
Re-sterilizing your grains would probably be your best bet in any case tho.

Fuck. I've left sterilised grain sitting for over a month before using it. 2 weeks is no big deal at all.

Killer pinset, you've got enough moisture in there and they are big enough you could up the FAE greatly, I'd remove the top completely and maybe even loosen the bottom may see a big difference in fruit size.
What's your light source out of curiosity?
