Liloldme do you use verm or straw with your hpoo?
I usually add around 10% verm to my Hpoo, a touch of gypsum and that's it. Was running low on my normal hpoo supply so I cut it with coir

Odd man. I find hpoo to not hold nearly as much water as coir does and I imagine that is why it never performs as well for me. Your isolate must just be really particular.

I should probably just build the fuckin' thing myself. Don't really have many excuses if it's that much cheaper... Are there any good guides here for building one?

greg, i used a 1x2 for a little over a year and was doing bags the whole time-its not as bad as u would think.
unless ur gonna be doing MAD bags everyday, i wouldn't go more than 2x2, for space, money, and overall efficiency.

I bought spores from a friend and they were on a q-tip sealed in a small plastic zip bag. So I made a glove box and forced distilled water through it. I sucked the water back up into a syringe and inoculated 12 jars. I spent a good bit of $ to do this and have nothing to show for it. It was my first grow and all contams. My question is... Did I do something wrong? Ive searched and it seems there isnt much info on spores on q tips other than its bad. The guy said he just drops the end of the q tip in a grow bag and has no issues.

Depends on what jar you use I suppose. I use PP5 containers.

Spores on a q-tip are best used to swab onto an agar plate.

No, you didn't do anything wrong at all. With the method you made, it's just impossible to get contamn-free jars. The way you should have gone was the agar way, inoculating agar plates with the cotton swab. Then you would have been able to transfer good mycelium away from contaminated mycelium and get clean myc to work with.
But don't be sad, try again. Get yourself some new spores and follow one of the agar teks here (Pastywhyte easy agar tek or Bodhisattas Pour Agar tek) and you will be successful soon

So I have sucsessfully grown out a clean, fruiting culture on agar. Many thanks to everyone who I emulated to get this far. As a beginner with shaky agar skills where would you all reccomend I go with this culture from here? Is it absolutely nessecary I transfer the culture a time or two before using it to inoculate? Is it possible to just aspirate sterile nutrient water into the wide mouth half pint that the culture currently resides in and use it as LC? Any suggestions or teks to get me one step closer to clean spawn would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Dick

You really should transfer at least once. More times to keep cleaning it up if you have sectoring. You can inoculate with anything though, you can inoculate with s piece of mushroom but it just adds a lot more variables into the equation when you do that. Most people will give it at least a few transfers from clone.
Technically, yes. You can add nutrient water to the top. Idk any teks out there for that though so not sure how you are planning on doing that. I would rather use the Blenderless LI tek to use a culture rather than that. You don't get to keep it but you can inoculate a bunch of masters with 1 pint (8-10) and then expand from there.
And just work on your sterile work. Look over sterile teks make sure you aren't overlooking anything. You do everything with sterility and you are golden.

From a noob to a noob - I would really recommend to make at least one more transfer. Some contamns are very nasty and hide very well, so you better make one or two transfers to ensure you have clean myc.
Your way of using agar is (at least for me) very uncommon. Can you reach the agar layer with a scalpel?
I would recommend to make a transfer to a petri dish or pasty plate agar medium and then from there to make a blenderless LI (as descripted in the tek).
