This is first flush. MS genetics, so uneven timed pinset. I harvested some of the ones that were ready for harvest, but there are a good number of small pins left over. Would you all pick these small pins off, dunk, and get ready for the second flush? Or let them grow out and once the majority are harvested, then dunk?

Edit: Excuse my lurking shadow across half the shoebox haha

I've used coir only from the beginning, so wondering what the advantage is.
Verm is cheaper that coir. It's handy for adjusting field cap. I learned that way.
not where I live. verm is way more expensive.
it is supposed to hold more water than coir so in theory u can get more water in ur sub without over saturating it.
Same here I think verm is at least 2x more expensive even in bulk

Hello everybody! Does this look leucistic?

It's from Cambodian spores but all of it so far has looked just like my Rusty Whytes, except no rust just standard purple.

Yeah I switched back to coir verm mixture. I ran straight coir all summer and didn't care much for the results. Adding verm helps retain the moisture longer than coir from what I've experienced so far. It's also gonna help save money on coir for me since verm is pretty cheap were I'm at and easier to get.

So if you get an over hydrated bucket can you add verm str8 from the bag no pasteurization?

How long do you cook your grain for?
I figure since I am doing full gallon bags and 9 per sterilizer that I should be going as long as possible without bursting/ turning the grain to mush.
So far 4 - 4 1/2 hours is about as much as I can do without visible change.
sound about right?

Dont quote me but i've heard that since vermiculite is inert it shouldnt need heat treating unless it was like in actual biological waste matter which will never happen.

Yes, you can just throw the verm in there to thicken it up. No need to pasteurize.

When you guys cool your scalpel in the agar does it quickly boil and throw little drops of agar all over the plate? It ofen freaks me out as I think it's a bacteria outbreak.
Also, when doing A2G where do you cool your scalpel? the outside of the plate of just let it cool in the SAB
