Yeah, it definitely will be hard to get off after. Sorry, I reuse the symbols so I don't mind. Put a piece of clear tape on the glass, write with Sharpie on the tape, and another piece of tape on top.
sponge,
People supplement grain with different shit. For instance, I put ground up dog food in some jars to speed up LI and give a boost in nutrition and had promising results. Need to do that again. But it jars look the same so it's important to mark varying things beforehand.
I've also marked the weights of the grain I put in the jars ahead of time, too.

Oh yeah, didn't think of that. I'm still noob level, so I've stuck to just straight grain, same weight every time.

We're all noobs, brother. And supplementing grain isn't super common so don't think you're missing out or not advanced enough. I mainly added ground dog food to give the liquid something to snag onto and spread around easier; nutrition was hopeful secondary benefit.
Liquid usually pools at the bottom of grain jars so I figured ground dog food would bind with it and spread around easier. People have done similar stuff with bran before. And blindingleaf would put verm in his spawn bags to use LC so I figured fuck it.
Sidenote: It's helpful to use the search function for specific posters. blindingleaf is one of the most knowledgeable posters, but doesn't post anymore. Definitely recommend searching to see what he has to say on random topics from time to time.

Thanks for the blindingleaf tip. I searched thru his stuff and yeah he knows his shit. I'm gonna read thru it when I'm bored at work .
Hamloaf is another dude I've read lots of great stuff from, but he disappeared too. Where'd he go?

honestly it wasn't even that. I just forgot to iso off the writing after washing(missed one in a bunch), didn't notice it when loading the jar with grains, then pc'ed. after i did the sab work and went to label it, I couldn't iso off the writing very well, barely removed some.

U ever tried writing on the lid? Lasts thru the PC forsure but if you write on it after the PC, it comes off like butter with palmolive and a scouring pad.

Me? no and i don't see why i'd switch, normally it just takes a swipe or two with an iso towel to remove sharpie from glass.

ham's busy doing his thing. Thanks, jbg. I'm not sure how helpful it is post-PC, but marking over your marking with Sharpie again and wiping before it dries often takes off both marks.

Anyone else use 4oz jelly jars?
I think since they are so small, they will be steam sterilized easier, colonize faster, and therefore will be cleaner, and get to fruiting faster.
I plan on dunking them for 6 hours after they are done consolidating, and after every flush, with misting in between.

full disclosure. that filter is of the 99.97% eff @ 0.3um variety. some around here say they'd rather swim with the fishes than get anything less than 99.99%
i just finished cutting the panels for a hood i'm building around a 99.97% filter, like that but 6" deep. and that same blower. fingers fully crossed.

I cant believe im already wishing I had a 48x24 filter.
-------
When you get a decent culture and make a master, how many g2g do you try to get out of that. I had a culture last the whole summer from 1 master as being on the road just didnt have time for the stages.
If you had to grow for maximum quantity what would be your go to method. Testing clones and expanding different species and varieties makes it interesting but if someone asked you to make as much as you possibly can how would you?

I've had a 99.97 for almost 4 years and havent had any issues related to the filter itself ..
But yes a 99.99 would be ideal if you can find one cheap enough

Did you get a 99.97??
Yeah I wouldnt worry man everyone said a 24x24x11.5 isn't going to work either and mine has been just fine ..
And you know I work in front of mine Haha its not like I do a few transfers a year I have probably done 10k+ plus transfers and tons of grain and the issues were of my own

mighta sprung for a 48x24 but I want this thing to be somewhat concealable and light as possible. I want it to just look like a box in the corner of the room with a cloth over it, kinda forgot about the blower sticking out on top, maybe I can make the blower removeable.
