I make mine about that wet but I run mine at spawn with a fan on and dialed in to my needs .. it juts comes down to your liking and how you run things in your room everyone's house is different .. you adjust your dial to however is the best way to grow for your situation ..
But if you're fairly new I'd agree with the 2 above me you will need to learn how to dial things in properly and being that wet can lead to alot of issues such as bacterial blotch to say the least

So something more like this? be
That's about as hard as I can squeeze after a session at the climbing gym. Squeezing hard as fuck. You can see one drop at the end.

Adding substrate to the spawn bag wud be one way to "spawn" it i suppose.
You mean a tissue from a fruit or from a rye berry? My goal is to get healthy mycelium on a plate so I can clone it.

Yeah, that's way too dry, IMO. Dude's squeezing the shit out of it with nothing.
IMO, you shouldn't squeeze hard for super long anyway because no matter what, that's going to keep draining the sub. Get a nice handful, fling the loose shit around your palm and knuckles, and have it packed in the palm tightly. Do one firm, but not super hard squeeze and see if a drop slowly drips down your knuckles. Then squeeze harder, not as hard as you can, and hold the same pressure. Your hand shouldn't be shaking or anything. It should drip for a bit and then stop.
FC is one of those things that can't really be explained as everyone's conditions (and grip) are different. You'll just eventually get a feel for it.

What type of markings for documentation survive pressure cooking? I'm using white plastic ball jar lids and would like to mark them with different nutrient percentages.

I'll often mark a batch of grain with a small Sharpie character and put a tiny piece of clear tape over it. I go on glass so I can read them on the shelf, but the same idea would work for the lid. I've also marked different supplementation with a sticker and tape over it, but this doesn't peel off easy later, so I'd avoid it.

I just got these but haven't tried them yet: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000I0VMJK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
I've been writing directly on the jars using regular Sharpies till now, wipes off with alcohol, but I only write on them after PC anyway.

when i wrote sharpie on glass then pc'ed, it made it super hard to get the marks off after. you might be better off pc'ing 1 at a time and mark after, or find an alternative for marking during the pc cycle, like color string?

I use lab tape, not sure how well it sticks vs masking tape or whatever.
But My trick is to fold down one end of the tape on itself to make a small tab (this doesnt stick as the tape is stuck to itself), this makes removing the tape WAY easier down the line.
Sharpie will survive even 3+ hours in the PC on the tape

What do you write on the jar before PC? It's just a sterile vessel till you noc it, so what is there to write?
