I pay 28 cents a pound for WBS. Yes it is pickier but.... Volume wise, for every one rye berry I get 3-4 millet seeds meaning that much more surface area leading to faster colonization times IMO

One time I made the mistake and rinsed my oats because after the wedge drop shake no tiny bits of myc. stuck to the oats only colonizing the jars in one spot.

Can i successfully grow a SupaGro Kit in Winter? I've got a heating pad so temperature shouldn't be much of a problem. But what about light? There are only few hours of sun if any these days. As always thanks in advance & best regards

Kits wont be welcomed here mate. But to answer your question yeah 12h on 12 h off keep the room temps right if it gets particularly cold where you live, but your regular comfortable room temp is fine.

uhh
You want to heat the room, not the fruiting chamber. Using a heating pad won't be doing yourself any favors if you can't keep the room between 65-75.
No one here knows what a supa grow kit is. If its a dub tub that uses live mycelium that got sent to you sure, it'll work fine. If it involves a bag
Plenty of resources on here how to make your own stuff. If you are using a kit then why do you need us They should give you "instructions" I think using a kit to start is a great idea if you have agar ready after your first crop so you can take spores or a clone from the kit and expand it from there.

I've never noticed a difference in colonisation time based on grain size. Inoculation points are overrated IME.

I think they are talking about colonization of the substrate after you take the grains to bulk.

Anyone use straight hemp/weed seed? I'm assuming they'd work just because WBS works. Thanks

I used hemp seeds once. They work fine but are a bit messy to work with and tough to hydrate because they float.
