Neat question. Probably a type of sexual reproduction but not bisexual. They don't have genders, every spore from any fruit is like a sperm and/or egg. Probably more akin to hermaphroditic reproduction(worms), where there's still genetic info from 2 parents(per strain), but no distinction between male and female in the species.
Atleast this is how I think of it. Doesn't even get into how multiple genetic strains work together to make a full functioning organism. The deeper you take it, the weirder and more complex it gets.

For those who have grown PE consistently, does it seem to crank out more weight when grown under proper conditions (i.e. cased at 100%) than regular cubes? I've seen people get like 2oz per quart first flush outta a good PE tub.

I've only ever grown the albino sort of penis envy, so dont take this as fact, but: It seems that if you get a full pinset of a larger variety of penis envy, like boner or uncut, you should have a larger yield. IF you do everything right and get the surface conditions down to achieve a full pinset/minimal aborts, i dont see why a quart of PEU wouldnt yield more than a regular cube, if for only the fact that they are physically larger mushrooms. Not 100 percent sure tho

Right on. I've yet to see PEU and APE crank out tubs like PE though so I'm interested in that. My ape never gives meaty full canopies like I've seen PE do, not just the boner and melmac remixes
It seems like if you just give it the right conditions and have a half decent ms culture you'll get these crazy tubs and the girth on the fuckers just boost the weight up big time.
I have some PE cultures going rn and am gonna put it to grains this week so I guess time will tell.

Yes, but I’ve never done the calculations to see if it’s truly more weight overall or just more weight on the first flush but significantly less on the next.
When conditions are right, PE pushes really hard, I’ve had big PE clusters blue and significantly divot the area around them as they grew. My most recent PE tub shrunk and inch on all sides after the first flush.
The point of casing PE is to reduce blobbies, and while blobbies are fine to eat and I’ve seen some almost the size of my fist and thick all the way through, they also have a chance of just sitting there forming a layer of non growing growths that reduce your total potential pinning surface area.

Is it common practise to case apes, i know with pe n peu its common to case to prevent blobs but ive heard apes don’t typically blob .
I got 4 tubs of ape to spawn today so was wondering if they will benefit from a casing? Ive tried using the search but cant seem to find a consistent answer

I thnk it is the specific culture. I have a regular old PE culture going that does NOT like to be cased and it pumps crazy hard. No saving the surface of the sub anywhere around a cluster of them penises. Have an APE and PEUW culture going atm so eventually we'll see wats up with them.

Id case it. My ape grow suffered from dryness even with a wet ass casing, they take alot of water.

Hey i gotta burning question in my peenie... Why is it that a couple of shrooms off the 3rd flush of my last LGT clone grow bruised super dark in comparrison to others of the same flush?..and generally darker than most cubes bruise. I noticed it cutting the Coy-er! off the bottoms before dehydration. We're not talking a shade darker blue here. We're talking baby blue vs darkest depths of the all powerful unforgiving ocean blue. I seen a PE bruise that dark once b4.

Some cubes bruise more than others
One LGT clone I had bruised green. Shroomz are cool like that.
