I make gummies with agar powder and add potassium sorbate and haven’t had any go bad before they got eaten. If not using a preservative, make sure you keep them in the fridge as they will contam.

New to the Shroomery so not really sure of the best place to post a question, I don't even know how to start a new thread!

My question is:

I'm working on a Pan Cyan culture from a spore print (bought from Hawkseye); I germinated spores to rye extract agar, and have just done my second transfer in an attempt to narrow the genetic spectrum and remove any potential contaminants. The myc has grown pretty well so far, if not a little slower than expected (I germinated these spores once before several years ago and experienced particularly rapid growth).
The point I'm at now is 5 plates each with a cutting from a single plate. Each plate will obviously have a verying genetic spectrum, but what I'm planning on doing is innoculating a batch of rye grains with each plate, so 5 batches; I will then grow out each batch and clone the best specimens from each grown. My worry is that I have never fruited from these spores, and I'm still pretty inexperienced, particularly when it comes to attempting any sort of isolation. I know that what I have performed is not an isolation, and due to the 'multispore' nature of my cultures I imagine it would be a surprise to be left with a non-fruiting sub-strain, but I don't want to be sure of my assumption without some assurance. It's coming into winter here, and I wish to get a steady batch rotation going for the next several months, so I intend on innoculating all of my separate grain batches over the course of a week or two, then storing them in the fridge and just growing them all out one by one. Does this seem like a risk to anyone? Assuming that my cultures are clean, I prepare my sub correctly, and provide optimal conditions (I'm using what I believe to be a fool-proof automation on a 'martha' setup courtsey of Jakeoncid419), would it be a good bet that I will get at least reasonable flushes? Or would it be best to do my first grow then clone immediately? I'm not aversed to cloning, it will be a first for me and I'm keen to do it for the experience at the very least, but I don't want to waste another month growing out then spawning a cloned culture, when I could just get set up with the cultures I'm working with. To anyone who is interested my gallery includes some pictures of my germination plates, and once my current plates have grown out I can upload a few more pics.

Sorry again if this isn't the place for this, but I'd really appreciate any feedback!

Chism!

I’d recommend asking this in The official panaelous/coplandia thread.  You’re more likely to get a faster and more well informed (specific to pans) response.  From what I’ve read pans are much more finicky than cubes; and therefore harder to grow.  Good luck!

So I've been away a while. What are the most used/ efficient  teks these days?

Years ago we had a little group of volunteers to update growing mushrooms section up at the top. Looks like it was updated a couple years ago. Anything happened it that time that should be included there now? As great a resource as this place is some times it hard to find the gold.

Today was the day. I was out of town for about a week. Got home around 8pm on the 11th to a letter from the property management company delivered on the tenth giving me notice that they were coming to do an inspection on the 12th between 9am and 4 pm.
Since I was here decided to make it a test run. Moved everything to a different location, but left cabinet locked as it would be normally.
The guy couldn't have cared less about it, barely glanced at it, didn't ask anything about it, and purposely avoided including it in photograph (they have to take one photo of each room of the house).
Couldn't have gone better. Not one word was mentioned about it. I'm glad I got to be here for the first time, and glad I took precautions just in case, but I'm now pretty confident that should they ever need access to the house when I am not here this cabinet will do exactly what I designed it for and keep other people's eyes off of my hobbies.

Here’s a question for anyone who wants to answer:

Does spawning with grains give you an advantage that spawning with crumbled BRF cakes doesn’t? Like would a monotub that was spawned with grain be expected to give a bigger yield than one spawned with BRF cakes?

Thanks for any input

Cakes are essentially a bulk grow miniaturized. Therefore grain to coir is superior

Not the most unusual thing in my house. And this has been painted and trim added since picture was taken.
No matter though

My room is around 22-24degrees celsius. about 12h daylight ( not direct sunlight) and 12 h dark. Every day i was spraying the kit, not directly the shroom container but the plastic bag as it was instructed. Always used hand sanitiser etc.. What have I done wrong?

Hey guys first time grower here,
I thought I‘ll ask here, because I‘m not overly concerned but a little hint or something might be good.

Started my first grow with cubensis PES Amazonian on rye tek. Jars looked wonderful, fully colonised within a week, no contamination (so far I think). I transferred it into the fc straight with coir, because I couldn‘t find verm or perlite in the gardening stores here (I come from Germany, I think Germans hate mushrooms or at least no one is cultivating here).

Made bulk 50/50 coir and colonised rye, little coir casing but of course it was colonised. Looks a bit strange right now, no pins, it has been 10 days in fruiting conditions, about 19-21 degrees at night, 22-25 during the day, I fan about 4 - 6 times a day and mist about one or none if it seems wet, because I think I overmisted first. I show you some pics, but I‘m a bit worried because I have no pinning and I noticed some strange cauliflower like or broccoli like structures growing, but it smells like fresh mushrooms and looks not like any contam.

Here some pics

I'll eat my hat if that thing fruits.

what you did wrong was trust a kit. I cant trouble shoot it because i don't know how it was made... Its likely the kit suppliers fault not your's... i suggest learning how to do everything yourself

You literally posted the exact same thing two days ago, and everyone told you you had at least a week left. No one can tell shit about your grow with that picture.
