Yeah you killed the myc with heat. Grain jars should be room temp, anything above 110 can kill mycelium..

So, I've been experimenting with Bag Clamps with... mixed success. It seems like about 50% of the bags inflate and flop around in there? The clamps (almost always) stay on, but ... I can't seem to figure out how to make them fucking not inflate (unless the PC is jam packed full of bags).
Any tips?

I believe that's how some people do it. I think that it depends on what your aim is. If you do it this way you will have to take it to spore at some point to ensure that it actually creates fruits in the phenos you've been picking for. Like, APE is a good example of this: the spores from APEs tend to not produce true APEs in future runs, but clones will. If you just want to clone into clones into clones for yourself (or if you share a wedge with others) then this will work. If you aim is to store spores of it that will re-grow, then you'll have to take spore prints and keep growing out from spores hunting further for the phenos you want until the mushroom produces spores that will reproduce the results you want.
Hope that made sense, lol.

I might have to invest in them. I can always use my impulse for those nice mylar bags that you can't see through. Would be nice for discreet transportation.

So I just inoculated a pint of Milo with a beautiful BHT culture and then accidentally inoculated the same jar with a Shiitake culture.

Anything in these that would be detrimental? Also, suggestions on how much to use per ounce / liter

And I'm just messing around with a couple cakes, so don't get all preachy on me for experimenting

That made perfect sense. For me that's a yes. I'm nowhere near creating a strain or anything lol. A good culture is all I'm after.

Lots of good info here https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/22527453
I've only fruited in shallow pans in GH, not sure how a mono would go. They like lots of water. I took about half the sclerotia out, the bigger ones, and left the smaller ones in the sub. The stones got really big in the pan and grew up through the surface. Check out that thread though, lots of experienced growers in there, more specific info.
Here's some Galindoi I've been too busy to mess with. Probably try to fruit this fall/winter. Stones are a pain in the ass to clean lol

Trying to understand the best way to describe generations of agar to agar transfers when starting from spores.
If I go spores -> agar -> agar, am I at T1 or T2?

T1. Generations occur when spores mate It really depends on what the variable t stands for.
Some people use it to signify transfers, others use it to signify generations

I think of germ plates as the origin or T0
Generations would be the next spores, they're usually noted with F1 F2 etc. Or just Gen X in my care.

Quick question. How forgiving is pasteurized coir? I've had my stack of jars covered in fool for about a week now. Should I just pasteurize again for good measure?
