No but I forget the exact price. similar to the standard white plastic lids
They're about 2x as expensive in the Walmart near me. I got one on a grain jar, works nice. It's sturdier plastic, but doesn't really seem to have any clear advantages. Works the same as my white mainstays.

I'd bet on not enough water as opposed to too much. But need more info. Is the tub on the left fighting an infection? Or are the aborts just super old and rotted?

It was yes. But I removed it from the grow room.
I have a few other tubs like look like this that aborted without any kind of contamination.
You think not enough water?
There is 4qts in there. 650 grams of coir. I figured on the dry side would be better.

Yeah sure.
Instead of using a whole brick to 1 tub. And having a super 4"+ substrate, I use a half a brick in each tub. And I use 3 quarts of spawn. Straight coir no verm when I'm doing a lot of tubs because its really not necessary and it's just another expensive that's not necessary When I hydrate my bricks I just bucket tek the shit with boiling water. Back then I was using 4quarts of water per brick. But I would almost always have to squeeze excess moisture out to get a more favorable field capacity. Lately I've been using 3.5 quarts of water per brick a d not having to squeeze out excess moisture
It really is about keeping it as simple as possible. Especially with bigger runs.

4qt water for 650g coir is a lot. I use like 3.75 per brick coir and 2qt verm and it still comes out on the wet side

This is literally what I was doing before and had great success aside from contamination after the first flush due to Niger Seeds.
Guess I get to go back to what was working. Damn.

I usually figure not enough water when there's massive pin sets that abort. Did you check for field capacity prior to spawning? What is your tub looking like as far as air exchange? How heavy is the tote in comparison to spawning? Is the sub dry? It doesn't seem like your spawn is clean either way.

I dont have the pics anymore besides these same culture different tubs bag style but I had other pics that showed tons of aborts like yours ..
This was a finicky culture I had to give it tons of fae right after the pinset for me to get more then a handful of fruits .. but it would push out 60 gram second flush monsters .. if a bag came in descent I would have 30+ day grams .. I would try to either give your sub less water or open up most of the holes after the pinset..
I like to make my sub a little wet due to my ac blowing non stop I use one piece of micro tape through the whole fruiting stage seems perfect

This is what I did. With the holes.
Right as soon as the pins set I opened up the top holes and then I found huge fuckers that further at the holes and nothing else.
Maybe lack of fae?
That why the fluffy feet right?

I'm saying if you had that much water then you would have needed to open up even the bottom holes .. top holes completely open ..

It might be humidity, either not enough, or it's being lost on occasion (dramatic change). I've put oyster blocks into water (floating) in 40% RH. Due to the larger amount of available water, it fruited quickly, and produce very large tubers, which later aborted.
As the fruits pushed further from the media, the humidity drops, causing mass aborts.

They also abort if I remove the water.

Is there a tek for these, or do you think I could safely remove the heating element, or disable it safely on this? I've had it for years to make jerky, but I'm not sure I want to dry mushrooms in it because it does put out a good amount of heat.
