I still use iso, just makes me feel better...lol

Just be sure the floor of your SAB (the table) is wet, and I believe it's a good idea to spray some hot soapy water out of a mister and let it settle out before I begin my work.

I have no place to speak on proper sab techniques because I suck in a sab

Well that explains! You'll find that it goes way better if you keep out of your sab and use the breathing holes to reach your work from the outside

This probably doesn't make much difference as far as sterility goes but you might feel more comfortable and help mentally when using your SAB.  It helps a little to decrease natural air flow in and out.

Cover the arm holes with a sheet of tyvek and then cut a vertical and horizontal slit where the arm hole are and use long gloves like vet animal exam gloves for example.

Peace

that might actually make things worse Glow. The big open holes are what lowers the force from the piston effect as you move. Which is why glove boxes are no longer recommended. If you block 90% of the holes you may just make more turbulence, and therefore more problems, than if you just left them wide open.

This is true.

I used a similar SAB for many years with no problems but what Lurker said is def the most recommended and well proven

If you have moving air you should be fine with the co2. Contams are everywhere
in an open air space with any airflow. If you wanna limit them you would
have to filter the air going into the GH and make it positive pressure almost

they're not really complaining yet ;

and the exhaust fan we're talking about , doggo for reference

Thanks for the input on SAB guys. Sounds like I got real lucky my first grow; I used 90% iso on the inside of the glove box, thoroughly, had a alcohol lamp jerryrigged out of a salt shaker, and had sealed the box by duct taping kitchen gloves to the arm holes. Before I lit the lamp I even thought to myself “this has to explode right? It can’t be safe.” Then I used the same reasoning that results in safety labels on bleach. “If it was a real danger I would have seen a warning about it in one of the SAB tutorials.” Got through the whole thing without a hitch; I wonder if the air/combustible ratio was too poor to ignite?

Really makes me wonder how many timelines I’m badly burned in. Either way, grateful for my epidermis and for your guys’ input.

Casper, clean your sab like you would your kitchen counter before making a meal. Same idea...clean not sterile bro! Your actions should be sterile, but it's all technique and practice.

yeah , delicious

local restaurants are going for them , i harvested 14 kilos from a 30 K straw bale on thursday and again 14 kilos today from another bale, not great but at least none of them contamed ;  and all were gone the same day , good cause i have no refrigerated room ; so yeah , next to flush are phoenix oysters , we'll see.

i'm gonna start using hpoo and crushed shells  , i've had great results size and yield wise before.

Other than slants, how would you store cultures?

I seem to remember people saying that pouring an extra deep layer of agar into a WM 1/2 pint worked well but can't find anything like that with the search atm, and seek confirmation.

Good to be backk am i right
