Sounds like that's his fault. He tried to do ess and rw remember
Most cans meats have some kinda brine broth or just their own raw juices in it.
Where as jars it's pretty fucking dry.

Fuck summer I hate fighting the heat. Way easier to deal with cold.
Yup, also summer promotes general mold spores in the air. So condensation/heat invites bacteria, summer/heat excites mold spores in the air.
Fuck mush cult is so much easier in the fall/early winter.
In my very limited experience plates and jars colonize hell of a lot faster with high temps though.. We had two crazy hot weeks and everything got an enormous grow spurt (not the tubs themselves though, as far as I could see) Didn't have any major contam issues in the tub stage yet, so Idk about that.
With (much) colder temps my jars sometimes took two months to colonize, now in the summertime it takes about one month. May also just be that I'm using better plates now than when I just started culting, Idk but so far the summer has been good to me.

I have a nice scope and would be totally down to check that out.... Problem is, NEVER have bacterial spawn.

Anyone who still thinks prepping WBS is hard either bus dirtier WBS than I've ever encountered (I've encountered some pretty dirty shit) or just hasn't experimented around enough to find the best way of doing it. I prepped 80 pounds of WBS yesterday and was once again very grateful for the grain, it's ease of prep, it's forgiveness of varying hydration levels, and my huge ass strainer. I've thought about making a WBS Tek but there are already so many. Mine is a bit of an amalgamation of a few though. Works like a charm.
I used to use oats but quit because I was failing a LOT. Back then I blamed the oats but I've been in the game to long now. I think one of the biggest problems in this (and almost every other) hobby is thinking we know something without considering all the variables.

My dad eats that canned chicken and loves it lol
I can meat and fish 90 minutes @15lb. Never had a bad jar....yet anyway, but that is what the safe food guides recommend. Old school people I know still water bath for 3 hours.
I want to try WBS again for exotics. Only tried once and thought it was a pain but it also had corn and sunflower seeds to pick out.

Raw or cooked
Raw, add some salt and seasonings. For the fish I add some vinegar too, throw back from when it was needed to dissolve the bones. Don’t need it in the pc but force of habit.

I'm going to regret this but... why don't we need to dissolve the bones these days?
