Need to know if these look normal. I read if you take a Q-tip and rub the mycelium and there’s color to the q tip that’s mold. Is this true? For some reason I can’t load a picture.

That is not true. You may have mold but without a picture or at least a detailed description of what you're seeing we can't help you.

I PC my oats for 2.5 hours. I saw Mushboy and others with plenty of experience say that they've upped their oat PC time to 3 hours. This is all for jars, bags would require a longer PC time. Regardless I think a longer PC time is better, up to 3 hours before you may caramelize the grains a bit and slow myc growth, and using more inoculant whether its agar or grains will help your cause

Hey everyone! So on every single one of my different strains in my different contains, directly after they fruit and I flush them Reich appears. How can I stop it and why is it happening? Thanks in advance!

I’m quite new to this. I’m not sure what agar is. They were made with verm and brown rice flour. Then once colonized rolled in verm. Then placed into a SGFC. I have fans and a humidity system that goes off a couple times a day. And lights.

If you're growing cakes more than likely the contaminant was in the spore syringe, you used to inoculate your cakes with.. Agar is a tool we use to grow out mycelium, with agar we can see contaminants before the culture goes to grain or cakes

Spawn in your case would be your cakes, grain inoculated with mycelium is what we call spawn

Would they have shown signs before my first flush if it was in the spores? Everything was extremely white and healthy before I flushed the cakes. Also. I can’t seem to keep my humidity up. What are people using when I see pictures of clot he sticking out of the tubs? Does it work well? Mine always seem to get bone dry.

Not neccessarily, pics would help us help you... No spore syringe is 100% clean, so I suggest you learn to use agar if you persue this hobby..
What kind of fruiting chamber are you using?

For some reason I can’t get a picture to upload at the moment. They’re plastic tubs with holes every two inches. Two inches of perlite on the bottom. The cakes are rolled in verm and on top of verm in the mason jar lid.

Holes on all 6 sides? 2 inches isn't enough to keep humidity up.. 4-5 inches is recommended

Sounds like they're talking about a sgfc. Holes every 2 inches on all 6 sides sounds good if that's what they meant

Yes Nate, if thats what he meant..who knows though... I have seen half assed sgfc on here, that my kid could have made better
4-5in of perilite in the bottom would help keep humidity up though.. 2in probably dries out quickly

Add more perilite then, and your humidity problems should be fixed..
