Yeah, it's legal here.. but fuck. the money and time involved is just stupid and it feels like a damn job. On the upside 1 grow gave me more weed than i could smoke in year, but fuck it.. will stick to psychs that don't make me want to be a slug.

Light isn't a pinning trigger, full colonization and evaporation are... Fruiting prior to full colonization is indicative of contamination: the culture is fruiting from stress in a last ditch effort to spread spores... if you don't see mold, it's likely bacterial AF! Got pictures?

It may be to some degree(i can't remember if total myth or not), but i think it's been really de-emphasized because evap is the biggest trigger we control; and the idea that light is a trigger leads to some of those old school ideas like colonizing in the dark or taping up tubs to prevent side pins which don't work.

Last time this happened, last year, I had to pay almost $35 to send them the lid for a full replacement.

How much space in front of a LFH is safe to use? I have a 24" x 24" LFH and I can pass the ligher test out to about 12"-18" but then it gets pretty weak. Past 24" out it occasionally makes the lighter flicker, but I imagine that could be the intake too. Just trying to shoot clean like all you boys.

I've had successful open plate tests all the way to the front of the work table (back? It's two feet deep) but I try to work close as practical. I've also done successful open air transfers after turning the flow off in a dirty room with two soil based plants

Nope. I hate busting out the SAB so I started testing out cleaning up contaminated plates by doing them with the flow off after the flow session. I just turn off the flow, sit down, let the air settle a minute, good my breath and make the transfer.
The reason I brought it up though, was to highlight the fact that a room should be relativity clean after having the hood running for a while.

I think I just figured out a solution to a couple of plates I've been avoiding transferring in my SAB because fuck that SAB shit. I'm sure that my 'lab' (which is a closet that is 26" wide and about 8' long) should be pretty easy to "clean".

I'm going to do a batch of chocolates, gummies, Taffy.... I'm just not sure which is the best option. Chocolates seem easiest but also like melting in transport would be a problem. Any one with experience have suggestions or links to good write ups?

If you aren't going to eat them immediately id do chocolates. Ive found that the gummies mold after about a week if left in room temperature. No experience making taffy though that sounds intriguing..
I use Timbos gummy tek and it works great, tastes great, and normally come on pretty quick

I didn't like the chocolates I made... but I didn't follow one of those recipes... lol. Waiting for fall to make more gummies Those were a hit.

Cookies! They donβt melt and take a long time to go bad. My fav is peanut butter or shortbread. Link in my sig for recipes, I donβt have the peanut butter one on though. Peanut butter cups are my ultimate but melt too easy.
Freezies are a great way to do them in βteaβ form and do transport ok except you just may have to drink them lol

You should be giving your plates, jars and tubs 12/12 lighting from spore to spent... not extended dark periods with restricted FAE in nature...

I transfer from moldy/bacterial plates in flow: just turn the plate so that the contamination is closest to you and doesn't cross clean culture with the introduction of flow, pull the lid off furthest from you up first, then lift only high enough to get the wedge: kind of off to the side a little for easier viewing... I save these for last, and change shirts IMMEDIATELY after session, but not particularly sure its necessary... try to catch it before it's too bad, and as a general rule/practice, have multiple plates per culture in the event contamination goes awry

I just shut my FH off and do the contam transfers right after I shut it off. Air is usually still clean enough to get a few quick transfers in

Anyone know roughly how much substrate (sawdust/wood pellets) a 14a unicorn bag can hold?
