I think it's fine if they're showing promise or if a poster is being friendly and eager to learn or whatever. He seems to imply you're just handing them out willy-nilly to bad posters. How do you plead?

I keep forgetting to go on and rate people. So many deserve good ratings, need to get on it more often. I actually just got you this morning stare lol. Couldn’t beleive I hadn’t done that already, you’re always so helpful.
Something I think a lot of people aren’t aware of is that you can “like” someone’s post by clicking the little plus sign in the headline of the post. Kind of a cool feature.
I had some plates in the fridge for about 6-8 months. I took out to start again and some of them haven’t done anything in two weeks. Think they’ll come out of it? I know they would get warmer and cold again from the fridge opening up.

Yeah, it was actually RW plates. One plate I took 4 transfers from the day after and only one started to grow. Nothing on the rest. The other plate from the fridge is still sitting there doing nothing.

Ya never know, i recently went through something similar , had slants in the fridge for a year n when i went to plate them a few months back none of them took except for a pe clone so one out of ten. Everything looked to be going well with the one but it ended up taking 6 weeks to pin instead of 3 and each tub only put out 1oz tops for 2 flushes instead of the regular 8 , and they lost all their pe traits except for the spongy stems, potency and the fall over fruits , needless to say it was alot of waisted time for not much and now im starting over from fresh spores n hoping for the best.
If you have spores id plate some and have them going aswell as to not throw all your eggs into one basket of disapointment like me, when i finaly realized my culture was shit i had to toss 60 more ready jars and that shits discouraging, but thats part of the hobby i guess , live and learn
Good luck man

Thanks Marmie, I actually put some RW spores to agar yesterday. I will keep that in mind though for the plate that did take. Be interesting to see if the same thing happens.

Guilty... Any one that has an "unrated" under their name (unless I'm reading an illogical/unsound comment) I figured I wasn't doing any harm... didnt know this was Instagram...

Not instagram, and likely not a huge deal, but an "unearned " rating of 5 mush could give the wrong impression, as it doesn't state "this person sucks but a nice guy rated him anyways" lol
I don't typically rate unless we've traded, or something jumped out at me about their posts, characteristics, grows, insights etc...

Just seemed like logical deduction to me
I don't know that it's writ large anywhere, the etiquette for ratings, but maybe it should be... one man's "common sense" is foreign language to others... true fact

Quick question about shoeboxes and their subsequent flushes. Recently got flushes from all of my shoeboxes, about an ounce dry each on first flush (yay!), and am now working on second flush.
What I did was harvest everything except the itty bitty guys, then dunk the substrate for 3 hours (read somewhere that one guy did a comparison and found 3-5 hours to be optimal). Now it seems that the surface is getting dry rather quickly. During the initial flush there were beads of moisture on the surface fairly consistently without me having to do anything, but I feel that I am having to mist pretty frequently to keep the surface with beads of moisture on it. The lids are latched and there's no pooling of water at the bottom of the shoebox.
Any advice for trouble shooting or is this typical? Would the dunking alone provide enough moisture for the substrate and then the beads of moisture will begin to form again as more pins pop up? Thanks so much!
(Also, random aside, one of the shoeboxes is making pure white blobs, I'll be interested to see what those turn into hah. Was from a spore swab I took of a random mushroom from my first grow)

It seems to be a theme lately that drier sub is better or a little under field capacity. This tub was labeled as “over capacity” meaning it’s a lot wetter than I usually do. Now I heard PE likes more water so it may be why but this is the best shoebox out of 14 and the only one over field capacity

If I have "field capacity" coir, I get cobweb or what ever fuzzy bullshit contams come with it being too wet. I've been doing 1.25qtwater:1brick/1qtverm. Been working out fucking perfectly, still dry as shit, but I wont have wetness in my tub, if it starts to turn light brown, I just spray I little bit.
