Rings can be caused by fluctuation in temperature and light also... Some cultures can be particularly sensitive to it

Would 26ga metal sides or 18ga particle board sides be heavier for a HEPA filter? I am going for straight sides, no header or flange.

I think most of the metal found in filters is aluminum (could be wroong) which is pretty light but I really donโt know. I would guess the wood is definitely heavier but I have only experience with my one filter. I curious as to why you are concerned with the weight of the filter? Will you need to lift it a lot? What are you mounting it in? What size filter?

Definitely aluminum in most Metal Frames, but the wood they use is pretty flimsy i.e. not very heavy... 6 in one, half a dozen in the other IMO/ limited experience (one filter each frame type, but different sizes)

30x36x5-7/8 I plan to move my lab before I expect to replace my unit. I will build the cabinet with some nice plywood. I will likely mount handles on the sides. Just figured if I could shed weight it would be worth the cost, but sounds like not so much. I already submitted me order form. Expecting info tomorrow.

What kind of metal. My filter has a stainless steel housing and is pretty heavy.

Wherever I have a great pinset I get short fruits, do I need to give more FAE or is it just genetic? Or with a heavy pinset should I put a little water in the bottom of my shoebox? Any suggestions

Im also getting quite small fruits in my shoe boxes biggest fruit im getting is 20g fresh. Are they just smaller because of the smaller sub of a shoebox? Ive grown 50g+ fruits in monotub before but because of the space i can only run shoe boxes right now.

Here we go. As you can see there's like a weird shape that happened at 9 o'clock when I cut into the agar the myc actually slid across the top since it was so thick. The transfers are looking good so far, but hard to tell.
What's your thoughts? I took two transfers at 9 and 11 o'clock.

Looks clean. I see nothing strange. Vigorous growth change, I suspect, is from environment change.

I'll be the 3rd chime in for the question of bottom watering a heavy pin set, in my first shoebox I counted 55 pins on half the box before I gave up lol. Want to know if they should be given some water while they grow or if misting will be sufficient. I'm in a desert climate but my coir was at or just below field capacity at spawn.

I've never really needed to bottom water for a first flush. I give it a decent mist after pinset and leave it go from there for the most part. Maybe an extra spray to the surface in a few days if it gets real dry. Same environment, hot dry desert.
/e but on the other hand; I like to say try different things and see what works best for you for this type of thing. My method may not be your best method.

It seems what was once heavy duty tin foil has become half the thickness.
I figure ether: A. Someone didn't check the calibration on the rollers at the plant. B. Miss packaging, bad Q&A. C. Consumers are are getting less product for the same cost.
It's been quite often C over the last 20 years and I personally would rather pay more for what I want than the same for what I don't want.
Anyone else experiencing this on the newer rolls?

I bottom water 5cc per Q of sub if the pins seem to be growing really slow. As in; veil has torn but they have not opened for two days, I often find the caps open or a noticeable advancement the next day and often no left over bottom water under the situation.
