you can isolate down genetics on agar, take clones etc, but the genetics of the spores doesnt magically change because they germinate on agar and not grains. you have just as big a chance of isolating down poor genetics as good genetics, thats why you should test your clones and isolates before going gung ho with them.

Kinda late to the party, but as far as nutrients and potentcy the last time it came up someone made a good point, some of the most potent mushrooms there is grow on just wood.

Today was a good day. Built two 40 L mini monos, a proper 45 L SGFC, and a 130 L SAB. Now we wait for the PC and onto grain and agar we go!

A big ass SAB rocks Bigger the SAB the less likely you are going to reach over your work because everything's so damn cramped, way more comfortable and not working in a bind. Makes you not dread sterile work as bad either plus your movements don't stir up as much air IMO. Big SAB+ big arm holes

I lucked up and found a cheap set of 14 hole saws that went from 1" up to like 5 or 6 for 14$ at this store that was closing down. They are shitty for anything but plastic but they serve the purpose. My buddy found this adjustable hole saw that went up to 6", it had a perpendicular shaft holding a cutting blade with a set screw kind of expensive though. I've never done it but I've heard people have used a torch and a large coffee can with success.

But I don't make the holes offset, I like them to be level.
