This is my third time growing mush... I'm still pretty new to this, but here's my experience.. my first grow was pf tek with brown rice flour.... I grew golden teacher.. the outcome was okay, mushrooms weren't potent at all, pretty much bunk... my second grow I mixed brf with a handful of whole rye grains in my substrate.. outcome was really good... my third grow was also brf with rye grains but I also dissolved a little bit of natural honey in the water I use to make my vermiculite based pf tek substrate... and the mushies were down right amazing... it's all in the food you make for them... the better the "food"the better the outcome so far I'm finding....Again... I'm new here and the interface is strange to use....I hope I stumbled across the right discussion.... another thing I should mention is that the mushroom genetics are all of the same grows... I save my spores and make my own syringes

Have you heard of genetics being a thing... or is it the food they get that makes them more potent?or is it a bit of everything?

Actually I think you just chose the wrong set and setting for tripping on the day they weren't potent. If PF tek wouldn't produce potent fruit, nobody would do it

Yes it is, a huge one. Pastywhyte already told you so, but thanks for trying to enlighten us anyway... Seriously, you think a mushroom community like the shroomery don't have that shit figure out already? Genetics is what accounts for potency for the most part.
Also, you got different results because you were working with different genetics on your three grows. Multispore is always a lottery, as far as genetics is concerned.

What if there was only just enough nutes to push out the shrooms but not enough to give them the full potential? Leading to bunk shrooms ? Ive heard quite a bit of people growing brf with bunk shit maybe they burn off too many nutes?? Im just thinking only because i started with ms and havent (knock on wood) grown a single bunk mush

Really? I would of figured hpoo/coir and grain would of been higher nutes then brf i guess i figured wrong ... so does putting ms to agar help the chances of getting better genetics ive only ever used agar so i guess i cant talk on syringe to jar

Guys, now I am a bit concerned. I made spore prints from a very potent grow (grow kit). At that time I was new in that whole thing and didn't thought about cloning the fruits, so I made sporeprints, then agar with many transfers of the best part of the myc and now I have two mono tubs running in colonisation mode. Now I'm a bit afraid that they could give me a bunch of unpotent fruits
Could it really be that they aren't potent at all or is it just a very low probability?
