That's actually really nice! I need to get me a dehydrater as of now i just use a fan. I bet that thing can hold a mass amount of mushrooms.

How do you guys recommend to prepare the room when working with a SAB? Usually I turn off my computer and close the window, is that even necessary?
Thank you

The computer is unlikely to do shit, but yes, close windows. You want the air STILL, so avoid things that make the air less still. That's all I do though. You don't need to spray anything or try and clean your area as it doesn't effect SAB that much.

I have a Cabela's dehydrator, different style though where you can't change the tray placement. I find the trays are way too close together and if there are regular size cubes on the trays you have to be very careful sliding them in or the shrooms just get squished and pushed to the back. Guessing 11 trays should work ok for you there, looks like it would be crowed if there were 22 of them. Nice score!

Thst was from last year. Long story about jars. Came into 1000s of them at one point. I also ended up giving away tons too when I moved.
Lids are easy see and cheap. Just time consuming

They dont have to be plastic.

Yep, 22 would be crowded. I can pull out the trays and rearrange them however, though, so fruit size shouldn't be an issue.
How many of y'all with SABs do your sterile work sitting? I've always stood, but my back is kind of fucked lately. I can't figure out a way to sit and do the work where I'm comfortable.

Situation: Friend (understatement, like 40% of my social circle are in the medical field hahaha) works at a hospital's emergency ward. Gauze is used quite a bit there. However. It has an experiation date, at which point it is tossed immediately.
Question: Could medical gauze be used in place of polyfill for filters? I figure something sterilized with gas & gamma radiation and intended to directly touch exposed human tissue's gotta be good enough for shrooms, no?
I hate to make waste and got brought up to reuse, so having a steady stream of material would be ideal. Plus it already comes in pretty thin, easy to handle units so it'd be amazing to handle.
Iunno if I should've made a separate thread for this or nah, but I figured I'd ask here first.

any opinions on this jar? I would like to expand it via G2G but if it looks bad I'll spawn it alone
pic was taken about a week ago and no metabolites have formed and I don't see anything funky going on in there since its been sitting at 100%
Edit* If anything, you cant see any seed against the glass now

My agar wedges have jumped off onto a few grains, pretty exciting. Did shake as RR advised in some threads after doing more research. Nervous to see if they’ll take off from multiple spots now. Gotta stop looking at the jars and just let them do their thing haha.
In the meantime I’ve got some new spore swabs to work with (:

Not much I can do now but wait. I've knocked up all my jars and made liquid culture. I rearranged and organised my grow room.

Made my SAB today as well as hung the lights on a couple 54 quart unitubs. Oats are prepping to be jarred tomorrow. It's been such a long time, I can't wait to see some actual (non bacterial) growth! Going to do the heretical spore syringe to grain, but at the same time (or within a couple days) start some spores on agar too.
