Say you inoculated these and the myc germinated in all random spots like this... Would you shake them now/later or leave them be until full colonization?

The one on the right looks.like it could probably make it without shaking it. The other has that big gap in the center there.
I find even if I have jars that dont need a shake i end up shaking them all anyways. That way they all finish very close to one another
Timmy what do you have there? Another culture that grows them wall to wall.

Why 5 hours? I assume you've had issues. Bacteria or mold been contaminating your spawn? Wouldn't recommend 5 hour pc, but be careful you have enough water if you do.
I run mine for 90 mins once 15psi is reached. I'm using Sorghum as my spawn, so I soak them in hot water overnight, then rinse, strain for 1 hour, put in bags while grain is still wet on the outside but no more water drops from the strainer (The grain will soak up the extra moisture).
Seal bags up before putting into the pc if you're going to inoculate them via syringe. I'm sure there are other easier ways if you're going to inoculate with a master grain jar or agar.
My bags look like this before putting into the pressure cooker (These triticale bags were prepped differently):

Someone recommended it and I thought I would try it. I have had troubles with bags but I think there were many issues. Thanks ttching, that's the tek I was looking for in particular. Definitely open to any suggestions. I have two slightly different bags so hopefully everything goes better. Not using my sealer and raising my SAB ought to do the trick.

You can let them print for two days no problem. Can also let them dry two days no problem as well.
It matters, pick desirable fruits.
Always good to see your posts timmy.

I've been drying my oats overnightt on a screen under a fan and they seem "too" dry. They have the same feel as they did prior to prep almost Can I get them overly dry?
Would it hurt/help to mist them before PC, or to add a small amount of water to the jar?

Dont add water to grain jars.
If the fan is drying them too much then you ditch the fan

Maybe. But you would notice burnt dry grains.
Dry hulls can burn during the PC cycle. Myc does not colonized burnt grains that well if at all.
