More than once I've stuck the empty bottle In The fridge not thinking, only had it out a few minutes to add agar &melted gw, then into microwave to melt. If it survived a fast heating like that, I'd think a PC would be fine.

What is the best lid set up for regular mouth mason quarts using metal lids with an SFD? How many holes and how big should they be?

No I was running into alot of mold and for me to have mold in my jars at least that much wasnt normal so I checked the lids and the poly was loose I pulled on it and it came out .. you see a car in states that have alot of ice and get that rusty look they call it cancer ?? That's how my lids looks it literally ate the metal but like I said that was over a year of use probably Atleast few hundred cycles

Mine are rusty and I don't think it makes a difference, fairly sure that's normal for everyone.

No I am saying the entire hole where my poly was stuffed was rusted out like cancer ... it went from a 1/4" hole to a 1/2" hole from the rust/cancer eating it away
