Since foil comes off the roll sterile, and you're putting an open air cap on it, the foil isn't the problem, its the cap itself and the method of printing. (not saying you're wrong just saying it could probably be worked around if it was an issue) Or maybe just print directly to the inside of the baggie, no foil. Put some foil over the top of the cap while its in the baggie so there's no contact between top of cap/baggie if we're feeling thorough
Something to mull over at least. Will post results when I have a good time to test it. Thanks for your thoughts folks
Why not just print directly into the baggie? I've folded a print into a little cup to squirt and aspirate the water into before. I'd planned on printing directly into water, glass, or something for syringes already so I would be interested in this. Maybe tonight I'll set something up.
Yeah might as well, its all gonna be swimming in water anyways.
I was talking to the guy who sent me the print and he said he already does something real similar to make spore syringes.

Back in the day, I used to always just print directly to the bottom of a half pint jar if I was going to be using it right away to make a spore syringe. Kind of a similar deal.
Not what I would do now though.

So I have to ability to seal grian bags before sterilization.
I would like to impulse seal them for handling post sterilization.
What the hell do I use to cut the top off while in the flow of a hood??
I've been looking at these angled scissors but idk.

You don't want to do it like that van. Cook them unsealed with a strip of tyvek and they will cool and form a tight vacuum in the bags making it like it's pretty much already sealed and you can move them to your hood no problem. Maybe loose 1 out of 50 bags. You don;t want to have to cut and reseal you will lose space in the bags and make it harder to shake. Plus that's a lot of extra work.
what you DO want is a magnetic hold down impulse sealer. AIE-405HIM 16" you can then fold your gussets out when you go to seal instead of tucked in and suddenly you get a much much bigger airspace in the bag and it's way easier to shake. Mag hold down sealers will change your whole world.

I've been seeing these edible places preseal their bags because when u make 300 bags at once putting tyvek in between each bag isn't too fun.
But I agree I wouldn't like to do the extra work.but I think it will be a good time saver and space saver as well as the handling between flow and where my steamer is.

Anybody interested in collective "testing" random things? Check this. The instructions say to like the post if you're down. Can y'all confirm the Journal gives the +1 option like the regular board?

God dammit my kitchen sink is clogged from wbs that spilled out of my strainer and I've spent 30 minutes trying to use a coathanger and a plunger on it with hardly any luck. No way I'm calling maintenance about this.
