Lately I've been taking them to 4. Seems to take that many to get relatively even growth and lose the weak spots. I might be over doing it a bit, but thinking it's good enough has bitten me a few times, so I've gotten more patient.

Ghostveil25 said: The way I've always dried mine is with a hepa air cleaner with a modified air exit to fit a 3 1/2 inch dryer duct. Then I hook all of that to a rubber maid and insert 5 screen trays inside. You can do an entire canopy tub with room to spare.
Leave it in the dryer for 24 hours then move to another Rubbermaid filled with damprid. The whole process takes about 2 and 1/2 days to absolute cracker dry. This method has never failed to correctly dry a whole tub at a time.
I don't see how any size dehydrator would be big enough for a full canopy tub.
Here's how (one way at least):

Same Excalibur 5 tray as well. Pretty sure it's a 5, at least.

generallly yes, but # of trasfers also depends on clenliness of the OG plate

I've also had plates that I'm pretty confident were clean, but weren't totally uniform. Those tend to not perform as well as the entirely uniform ones, IM(limited)E.

It has shrunk quite a bit over the past 3 days. Worth bottom watering or just let it be?

being real careful to point out i'm not speaking from direct experience, just leaving that there. since no one has responded:
if the substrate has shrunk a lot in a few days, and the fruit hasn't changed much, i reckon it means it's drying out. word is PE varieties are thirsty bastards. _if it were me_ i would water it if it felt much lighter than it did when you spawned it.
congratulations regardless. APE seems to be a challenge. this multispore?

Started with a syringe and cleaned on agar first. If I remember right it was 4 transfers before going to grain.
Ended up harvesting in the end. Just shy of 400gr wet. Given it a good dunk and seeing what the second flush comes out like.

Magical Fudge!
- Macerate dried or finely dice up mushrooms. 100g/10g is a good starting off point. Adjust as you see fit. If using fresh, adding more mushrooms requires more liquid and longer reduction.
- Optionally do an initial soak in lemon juice. Use just enough to ensure everything is wet.
- Add to a pot, top up to 250 ml hot water, simmer until it reduces to 150 ml.
- Strain out the mushrooms, add back to pot with 800g fine/powdered sugar. Put heat on low and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add 50 ml golden syrup and 120 g butter. Put heat to medium. Bring to a light simmer.
- Add 2 x 400 g cans of condensed milk.
- Bring to a boil, and heat until soft-ball stage is reached ~ 112C/235F. Remove from heat and mix in 10 ml vanilla extract.
- Pour into a greased pan and let cool. Cut into squares. Munch as required.
Not necessarily meant as a primary dosage, I do it just to enhance or lengthen a trip, or for microdosing. This makes about 50 average sized pieces, so 5 pieces equates to 1 dry gram.
Obviously keep away from stoners, family, kids and animals.

Psilosopherr said: Struth brah. Take some extra care when making prints for this method perhaps. Since foil comes off the roll sterile, and you're putting an open air cap on it, the foil isn't the problem, its the cap itself and the method of printing. (not saying you're wrong just saying it could probably be worked around if it was an issue) Or maybe just print directly to the inside of the baggie, no foil. Put some foil over the top of the cap while its in the baggie so there's no contact between top of cap/baggie if we're feeling thorough
Something to mull over at least. Will post results when I have a good time to test it. Thanks for your thoughts folks
Why not just print directly into the baggie? I've folded a print into a little cup to squirt and aspirate the water into before. I'd planned on printing directly into water, glass, or something for syringes already so I would be interested in this. Maybe tonight I'll set something up.

I guess I don't have high hopes you can tell from the pics, but here are 3 RW t2 plates, each got transferred last night and the pic with my fingers featured, was what I perceived to be the best looking, so it went to 3 plates
I'm asking how these plates look for an idea on how much more to transfer? I recently tiger dropped to grain with what I thought was a good plate, but my melty ice cream looking jar says otherwise So taking all precautions and getting whatever input I can before proceeding
Edit: My 3 day post shake melted looking jar

dry your grain much more next time. that's likely the root cause. there may have also been mold in the plate. or some got in during inoculation

I was waiting for that, I swear that grain was bone dry outside, and to top, I dozed off during pc cycle and it went for a little over 2hrs I almost didn't use it cause they seemed dried out

I noticed that contams hid pretty well when my agar had more nutrients than it needed and would be fluffy and tomentose. I recommend cutting down on whatever nutrient source you use for agar as it can help make the myc appear more rhizomorphic and close to the plate so you can see everything better. After doing this it cut down my contam rate even more.
