Using bags like that though is still tricky it's best to hydrate then dry properly cause for whatever reason the grain in bags dont soak the excess water up too well ..
Has anyone heard from him you think hes cool or just some bullshit
I'm pretty sure ham is good. IIRC, a few of the Tribe members chat with him offline and they'd probably report some BS. I'm amazing ham posted as much as he did with all the work he put in. If you mean spawn bags, I get my grain very before before loading them up.

When im not fucked already then whats the best option when my jars came little dry. I wasn't at field capacity because i didn't wanted it too wet. When i squeezed little harded then some water came out. Seemed okay but idk
Your BRF shouldn't be field capacity, so no worries there. It should just be a little damp. A little clumpy doesn't seem like a biggie, but ideally you want it airy so the mycelium isn't cramped and bothered. You don't want it overly wet or packed down very tight either. A "little clumpy" is subjective though so maybe post pictures?
I believe it's recommended to mix the water in with the verm first and THEN add the BRF. Did you do this? Did you, Firstttimer? Don't lie to me.
I haven't done PF Tek in years, but I don't believe water should come out. Do you mean like squeezing ULTRA hard with a teeny drop?
ofc i mixed verm and water first, then added brf in bowl mix dosent seemed clumpy but when fillin jars they came like little clumps,i gave jar little shake and they pretty much went away, light touch with spoon and clump collapsed right away, yes hardhard squueze and few water drops came out,i didnt packed it up,left jars airy like they should be

teladi said: <rant> I fucked up the electronics on my main dehydrator. I bought a real cheapo in the meantime while a replacement temp controller is on order. I had to alter it to get it working properly: Moving the bulb holder from the top to the bottom, buffle the vents to reduce air flow to build up temp. Still haven't gotten the internal temp above 35C, so my mushrooms are taking forever to dry properly. They are at the leather dry stage. AND THIS FUCKING POS' SHELVES KEEP ON FUCKING FALLING EVERY TIME YOU LOOK AT THE DAMN THING. Anoying fuck. It would have taken me less time just to put a bulb into my main dehydrator, and let that operate at sub optimal temps, but still warmer this cheap piece of crap.
Now to the point of all this: My SO reckons that is ok, since almost all the mushrooms she has ever had have always been leather dry, and thus chewy. THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Cracker dry mushrooms are much easier to eat than leather dry mushrooms. Cracker dry mushrooms store longer than leather dry mushrooms. I've now proceeded to shit over all my friends who grow but don't dry properly.
How is it acceptable to produce something that could be much better with just a little bit more effort? Especially if you are selling that something!
I've become snob, but for good reasons I hope. </rant>
I have a shoebox-sized one that was built to transport easily, but with just over 100g leather dry shroomies, it is just too small to do its job.
I had a piece-o-shit dehydrator that gave me issues on my first run out of the box with it.Had to run to waldorf and grab a presto dehydro(love it)to save the batch I had drying at the time. I did end up using that cheapo dehydrator again tho.

Omg Trypt, looks bad. It reminds me of activating yeast for bread baking. Are you going to try them? Just the tips 😝 and boil the shit out of them if you do. Or better yet, I’d let the anticipation build and wait for the next grow.

if it smells like beer, it's probably beer. as in, yeast fermented grain. distill it and see if it contains alcohol.
