It's reasonable, but still expensive. I need to get this hobby down to approx net zero spending, which I can get pretty close right now! I can have it shipped to my door for around $25-ish

I haven't gone the bag route in this hobby yet since the space I have to grow isn't a lot. I feel like once I get into bags it's all over. With that said... yes, I'm totally working on putting together straw logs, which aren't giant at all

Right. As of right now I have a minor hobbiest friend who was kinda shocked when I saw their turned wood projects with shavings all over the place on Facebook and was like "Uhm, strange question. Can I have all that? Will pick up whenever!" I have two garbage bags in storage full of Maple shavings.

Adapted Cubensis, from dry spores, order: WL-Tek + sucrose peg > T-Gel (Recipe A) > T-Gel (Recipe B) > Brown rice.

Recipe A: 100g Water, 2g Agar, 1.6g Black Tea (0.6g Soluble), 0.8g Sucrose, 0.04g MG. Recipe B: 100g Water, 2g Agar, 3.2g Black Tea (1.2g Soluble).
Note: T-Gel requires more oxygen than normal, some setups may not be suitable.

More here: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/25780622#25780622

Images would look better if the rice was darker, almost no wedge left.

Do you think this PE looks ok. This is from Tomentose myc that I was in a hurry with. Its very vigorous and bright.

30 hours after a shake

Doesn't look good at all imo
Could you explain why, for those of us trying to learn please?
It doesn't look like a healthy jar does. Compare to healthy jar pictures. That way you can learn the difference too. The entire mycelium morphology looks off. To me nothing about that jar looks right
So ive shaken and spawned 2 jars of this crap. It was quite tough to break up and was a rubbery mycellium. On the upside it smelt like cubensis mushrooms. Im not holding up much hope but it would be nice to get a flush out of it. I will keep you posted. Come on the cockshrooms please grow (first try)

Update, so the PE myc has continued its aggressive waxy style. Only time will tell. Options, if I can get a decent flush G2G one of the 5 standbys and do a mono. If it turns funky, keep transferring the culture and try again.

I havenβt grown them in a tub but you may need to bottom water to keep them going as it looks like that sub is shrinking and they take about 60 days to finish.

Anyone ever use a propane gas burner for a Presto PC? Something like this. Iβve wanted to use an electric hot plate, but Iβve been too afraid of them things melting during a several hour PC run.

Nice. I like it. The blower is gargantuan lol. But slow it down with multiple pre filters if u gotta. That's what I've been doing. Also I find the flame blowing at a 45 rather than 90 works a lot better.

Caps I have a bad feeling that you have way overblown your filter. What in the fuck is that blower dude? It looks like a 3/4 hp blower that makes like 1600cfm @ 1" sp.
These filters have a maximum airflow and you can damage the matrix of fibers that make up the filter if you blow it too hard (thats what he said) and also even if you are not damaging it, the harder you blow through the filter the more contaminant particles are able to penetrate, ive seen filter ratings that say for example and totally made up : 99.99@500cfm 99.4@1000 cfm or something to that effect. Just an example with made up numbers but I have seen some of the filters rated like that on the data stickers.
A way to know the filter is damaged is if you can not get laminar flow any more and there are high spots and low spots of air flow, even with a proper plenum.
If it has multiple wiring speed abilities wire it to the next size down or more and check it out. The motor will have a wiring diagram printed on a sticker on it but you just rewire the black cable to one of the other color loose cables.

Its the blower from a 2.5 ton hvac system, and it's wired on low speed (roughly 600cfm if I'm not mistaken)... I've got it slowed a bit with prefilters on both inlets now: and I've got a tabletop dimmer for high voltage if a couple of those won't suffice... I'll get it dialed back before running it too long

Is that an 18"x18" filter? If so you need only 225 cfm @ ~ 1.2" sp if you have a 1" sp filter and .2 sp prefilter.

Also I dont know exactly what a tabletop dimmer is but I don't think that's waht you want to use for the blower speed. Some blowers say not to use any controller, but I have had no problem using a "router speed controller" from harbor freight ($20) to control my old blower from a hvac system personally.
