Would anyone happen to have a ball park of when a 1:1 WBS consolidated spawn to equal parts CVG in a shoe box 2 qts in total would take to fruit MS? Just curious and looking for a ball park.

Yeah i definitely didnt go that hard lol. Im clearly a noob but proud of it. I just wiped it down with alcohol wipes and did everything fast and as slow as possible if that makes any sense.
If anything goes wrong i have plenty more to keep trying. I just tend to over think alot.

Anyone have success with long term storage of pasty plates? I'm thinking I will saran wrap some of mine and throw them in the fridge since I won't be needing them for a few months at least.

I left mine unwrapped at room temp for a couple months, they dried out but everything started growing again when transferred to new agar. I'm sure theyd be fine wrapped in the fridge.

Right on, thanks for the heads up. Do you think it'd be viable to use these stored plates to knock up master jars?

I actually posted that in the confessions thread. Too much neglect and extremely dry air, I can’t keep the surface good on boot boxes. Struggle with monos but they are definitely better Bought a humidifier though, hope it helps!

As long as they're clean... I'd take them out 24-48 hours prior to dropping to observe recovery, or the emergence of any new contaminants that may have developed/progressed in cold storage

So a few days ago, I had my storage fridge stolen out of my garage. Dumbass me kept all my slants, prints and plates for long term storage in it. Based on a tip from a neighborhood security group, I discovered one of the boxes that I had packed everything in. That box has all my prints and most of my slants. Rainfall has been heavy here, and the box was open and wet. No clue what has survived.
So, a life pro tip: Don't keep all your eggs in one basket. Instead I'm going to annoy my SO and store all my future shit in all sorts of places.

Sorry to hear that man, that sucks. At least you may be able to recover some genetics from that box. You're not a dumbass, I'm sure so many people do just the same, damn sure I would be if I could afford a minifrige. I wish you the best man!

The good thing about a four season climate is you get to appreciate it more when the sun returns and stuff starts to grow again. So that's kind of what we're clinging on to for the duration of the winter:)
