edmunter, my bet's on you my man. in this together. as long as it's neither moldy, slimy, nor smelly, how bad can it be? my optimistic hypothesis is the mycelium is reacting to a hydration level it doesn't like so much. once it can stretch out into the substrate, all will be well.

I had some nasty PEU jars that looked like that, maybe even worse. Smelled normal so I spawned them to a 9L shoebox. Blobbed up like hell on the first flush, now my shoebox is pushing out some fatties for flush 2

This is the one tub I was talking about with a bottompin city...lol
Thats my first time growing PEU, the caps seem really really dark, one even looked kinda bacterial so I gave them some more air flow
Not an amazing flush by any means but for jars I almost tossed seems decent

Look ok to me as far as color goes no obvious signs of bacteria either IMO... nice little fat bodied fruit! I'm running a clone of a luecistic PEU currently: going to attempt stabilizing a new variety: LUPE! (Luecistic Uncut Penis Envy)

That be a legit PE variety as opposed to PE6 right? If so I could go for some LUPE if it works out

In the grand scheme of things, I'm going to guess every combination of genetics has happened in the wild thought the ages. However, it would be nice to get a stabilized variety that we can grow at home!
Looking at that LUPE waiting list myself...

so far yes, all fruits from ms are coming up leucistic looking.
The goal I'm trying to get(that fisherman wanted to see) is a good printable lineage from these ms ones.
/e Shaper - It's already available though is what I'm saying. I still got some swabs of PEU spores from the "White" clone grow if you'd like to play with'em. lmk.

Hurrakrayne said: Quick question.. my pastyplates got don in the pc last night. I was wondering if while i had them in my SAB do i have to have one of the holes covered or not. I have read both that you do need to or you dont have too.
Any input would be appreciated
I dont keep mine coverd, and just do standard procedure of HEPA 30 to an hour before with an hour of no circulation of any kind in the room, clean clothes, spray down towel with soapy water with gloves, wipe down the inside of SAB 70%, spray soapy water in air to catch any mold or contams, Wait atleast 2 mins, Wipe down all inside work and go to work.
Many people dont even go that hard.
TLDR, no you dont NEED to keep them covered, Is there a higher chance it would cut down on X contams that enter the SAB during that time? Yes. Can that be mitigated with minimum effort? Yes.
It's a personal preference.
Imho of course
