Yeah, pretty certain. I didn't make the surry sludgy enough apparently it can colonize in as little as 3 days if it's real thick. I used a lot of water to make it go farther. 500mL for one half pint cake (really even smaller than 1/2 pint after you cut the dry verm and part of the top off)
Maybe all my jars will go bad and I will abandon it but it seems like a decent alternative to LC for knocking up tons of jars

Crazy!
I've used both, LC can be as fast. I've tried it with 30ml per quart bottle. 4-5 days for full colonization. The same time with about 1/3 PF cake slurried (I use Josex' style PF pucks as slurry source) to 16 quart bottles.
But I prefer slurry too. Way harder to fck up the way I do it (see my journal entry). I basically pour sterile water onto a PF puck, put the blender lid on, shake hard to break the colony apart, then slurry it with a electric drill (there are adapters to Oster bases), inoculate.

I nearly always get first signs of recovery after 18 hours. I've seen the suddenly turning white thing too but with BLI.

Yeah BLI with grain spawn was my experience with it. And I use a Oster blender assembly and blend the piss out of it. Probably explains the delayed fuse effect.
I use my plates in this manner too sometimes. Instead of dropping wedges.

Are these plates still good to transfer? Let them incubate a little too long..

Think I can salt over the patch and get 1 flush without risking contamination of other boxes? It would be a shame to be this close to 3oz of RW's and have to pitch it.

I carefully cut out patches like that and then salt the hole.

The cutting out and salting, does that usually work?

It can. But what it will Def do is leach water out of your substrate and it'll causes water to pool on the surface.
I usually just cut out the area. So long as it's not like half the substrate. Always cut out a little more then what u can see. Go a little bigger then the affected area

It holds it off for a time. Some say continue fruiting in a different area but the theory is that contamination is all about and in the spawn and has nothing to do with the environment.
Here is a tub I did just that with

Nice job. And that's exactly right. Not really a theory. Assuming everything else was done correctly it's the grain spawn most times.
Rule #1 just because it's white, don't make it right.

Found this myc today in an area I seeded with Caerulescens spore water this summer. Smells sweet like Caerulescens but actually has some rhizomorphic growth.
Was thinking about cleaning it up on agar. Worth it?

I want to buy a large dehydrator for a decent price. Anyone have suggestions? Willing to drop $200, even up to $300 if I have to. Wondering if it's just better to get multiple cheaper units at that price range?
I only grow part of the year but I'm going to have about 20 54quart monotubs going at a time with harvests coming in daily

TheAtlantean has built an awesome homemade dehydrator. I think he said he spent around $120 to build it (without fan or elements) and it can hold up to 20,000 wet grams.

I keep it in one of my bedrooms. Gonna probably move it into its own separate room though so it doesnβt disturb any of my other processes
And thanks man! Iβll be posting the tek for the DIY dehydrator soon.
