I think your more measuring the glass at that point which would work as well. I like to hit the top of the liquid cuz heat goes up.
Stir so that you get more accurate temps and the bottom doesn't stiffen up on you.

I Don't measure temps or anything. I pour as hot as i can, let cool for several hours then go back in with iso'd gloves and put every 2 or 3 in a ziplock bag. By the time I get to them they dint have any condensation. Sometimes it comes back as growing myc causes temperature differential between the dish and the air and thus, condensation

Interesting. If I don't let my bottles cool to at least 120F I get beading. Sometimes not though, it is never all of them either way but it sure is a pain in the ass when it does happen.

I can't usually leave my plates set up for hours otherwise that would work for me.
I usually do my pour at the beginning of my session so they get wrapped as soon as they cool.

Try to swirl it as it cools. Should be okay. Give it some hard shakes too if swirling doesn't help. Maybe balance the media bottle on the lid, sometimes my agar will drip back into the liquid if its stuck to the bottom of my bottle.

From all the recipes I’ve seen, after adding the dry and wet ingredients of your agar you bring it to a boil in the mic before putting it into your PC. Starts the melting/mixing of the agar powder.

Normal Agar: Boil the kettle, or use a stove > measure the agar alone, measure additives separately > add boiling hot water to the agar > stir until no lumps > add additives > mix.
T-Gel: Boil the kettle > add boiling hot water to the agar > stir until no lumps > add the tea bag > stew, then remove > microwave > add additives > microwave.
Depending of the recipe: Add an additional ~40g of boiling hot water when measuring, microwave for 2+ minutes.

Why do we need toads boiling water when we PC for 15-20 mins at 15-20 psi. Your agar is going to boil more in the PC then anything.
Also should add I never use agar straight out the PC I usually wait a day or two because I get busy
So it ends up being reheated in the microwave any adverse effects not that I can tell.

The idea is to ensure lumps of sugars don't caramelize during the PC. You dissolve it properly then sterilize it. You can cut corners but that's what I learned in the lab at school back in the day.

Once assembled, most agar's can be re-heated to pour a few (or more) plates, if it's stored. I do 25% power (900w) for 4-6 minutes, so it's evenly hot and not boiling over.

Boiling agar before pc’ing is retarded.
Add dry ingredients and room temp tap to bottle. Swirl or stir if you have a clump of dry ingredients stuck to bottom. PC. Done.

S/he probably got confused about re-heating it. I've not seen many recipes using a microwave myself.
