I've noticed that normally I got around 9% yield after drying cubes. But I have a couple tubs from a clone that have been consistently giving me 10% no matter how long I leave the fruits in the dehydrator on max temp. I get it's only 1% but I'm curious to see if anyone else has ever had a ''meaty'' isolate.

Archaea the new word of the day or something? If you know they're archaea and not bacteria please post how exactly you came to find that out lol.
Most archaea are extremeophiles that would not be growing on dishes at room temperature anyway

I've had some that give me around 7% as well. I was so confused when I weighed them after being in the dehydrator, I thought some small animal broke in and ate them

I made a batch of bad agar a few weeks ago and all the plates became contaminated. (Didn’t let the PC come down all the way on its own). Anyway, rather than it being a total loss I thought I’d experiment with some Caerulescens spores and swabbed a contaminated plate with spores from a wild print.
Inoculated contaminated plate on 11/13.
Pic from 11/21:

Pics from 11/25 -

11/25 - Took transfer from heavily contaminated plate.

11/26 - So far no signs of contamination.

I was very surprised to find out this species will resist and even fight back against mold. I’m am not saying that they will kill or get rid of mold, just that it is resistant.

PP5s are quart Ziploc containers. I probably misted them a bunch and fucked up the moisture content. I don't include quart jars or PP5 containers for my actual calculations when estimating future yields; tubs only.

I keep track of everything. The wet:dry ratio for variety/tub is to have reliable metrics to plug into my yield estimates. When I enter a tub into my spreadsheet, I get estimated date/yield on flushes, and quarts of spawn, tub size, and clone used all factor into it. It's pretty useful.

I’m not cultivating mold. I’m testing Caerulescens spores against mold. The area I took the transfer from was in the middle of where the spores had germinated. Yes, I know mold spores spread quickly and can be hard to get rid of. Just an experiment.

The plate it tightly wrapped and in a ziplock bag. I won’t be opening it again now that I’ve done the transfer. Again, just an experiment.
